"Alexander wake up its 6:30 in the morning and you are going to miss the bus" - Screams Alexander's Mother from Downstairs
"Uhhh... I don't want to go to school." -Alexander Screams Back
"I didn't ask if you wanted to go I said wake up and get ready. I left your bus pass in the kitchen table." - his mom says as she knocks on his room door.
Alexander gives in and sits on his bed, and feels the cold tile that his feet have touched. Stands up and begins to get ready for school.
This is the worst time of year.
The time we have to go back to school. This time around it sucks even more because I have to enter high school in a different city where I know no one and I still need to pick my class schedule.
Alexander sees as the yellow school bus parks in front of his house and honks. He grabs his backpack runs downstairs to the kitchen, grabs an apple, and runs out the door and gets on the bus
So many Unfamiliar faces - I think to myself.
As I walk down the narrow aisle of the bus I get many looks from the students. But as I go down I spot a beautiful girl that has bronze almost cinnamon color skin and I just stood their and looked at her.
"Take a seat next to the kid with the beanie it's the only seat available we have a full house" - screams the bus driver
The girl looks at Alexander and notices that he was looking at her and Alexander nervously turns the other way and sits next to the kid.
7:00 am
As the bus driver hits the breaks everyone on the bus gets pushed towards the seat in front of them, and there is a loud squealing of the breaks.
"Everyone take out your bus pass and show it to me as you exit the bus" - Says the Bus Driver
Fuck... I forgot my bus pass
As Alexander gets closer to the front he thinks about what he is going to say.
Hey, man, I forgot my bus pass
Umm. I'm sorry I'm new to this school
And I forgot my bus pass.
Alexander is next
"Bus pass" - says the driver
"I forgot it" - Alexander says Nervously
"Ok... Stand to the side I will deal with you later" - the bus driver tells Alexander
The kids on the bus all giggle as he says that out loud.
Alexander waits nervously worrying about what will happen next and keeps his head down the rest of the time.
7:15 am
"Well, I have to take you to the office kid and make sure you are a student here. Come on let's go." - the bus driver says nicely
As Alexander walks to the office the bus driver tries to have some small talk but Alexander doesn't continue it.
As Alexander enters the office behind the front desk is a short man that looks like he is in his thirties and he looks like is not married because he is not very good looking.
The short man looks at Alexander and points at him and says
"You must be Alexander Rhodes, the newest integration to East Valley High School Home of the Cardinals. I'm Mr. Castro and I'm your counselor" he says enthusiastically
"Yes... I guess I am" - Alexander Responds in a confused tone.
"Well here is your schedule and I have arranged a student to give you a tour and help you integrate into CARDINAL NATION. Hey, Ashley Come over here."
A girl with bronze almost cinnamon color skin stands up and approaches Alexander.
Ohh my God...
It's the girl that I was staring at the bus.
"Well Alexander this is Alison, Alison this is Alexander. Well, I will leave you two so you guys can get to know each other and get the tour started the bell rings at eight. So get at it" - Mr. Castro says as he walks into the back of the front office.
"Well, my name is Ashley. Let me look at your schedule to let you know where you will be going" - says Ashley
Nervously Alexander gives Ashley his schedule.
"So where do you come from?" - Ashley asks
"Ohh I come from Georgia" - Alexander Says nervously
"Ohh a Red state well welcome to California a proud blue state." - Ashley says
Well, Ashley gives Alexander a tour of the school and through the tour, Alexander keeps his head down and does not say much.
8:00 am
Riiingg Riiinggg
"Well that's the school bell and here is your first classroom D-103 Biology. Good luck and see you around." - Ashley tells Alexander
Alexander nods his head as Ashley walks away.
