how much does your soul cost.

A  prosperous middle age man had it all, even favour in the township he recognized by: mayors, leaders and parliament officials would pay him a visit now and then, he had 7 wives and 15 children, they got along well and they were all taken care off.

All seemed well but he hid a dark secret every change of season, he had to maintain his status for inflow to continue outflow had to happen.

At end of month of March he took a goat to the bushes , end of June he took a sheep, end of September he took a cow, end of December he took his big van to the bushes, the back was always covered , i followed him into the bushes, curious to see why he kept doing this every year,  the shock i got seeing him leading the livestock into the dam each season .

The last season of the year i followed him and saw what left me trembling, he pulled out a woman from the van hands and feet tied and threw her into the dam with no hesitation, i ran back home to make sense of all this, he takes a new wife every year but they never had a funeral at his place, i concluded he is sacrificing to gain power and favour everyone liked him such a nice guy.

The following day, i decided to head out to the dam to see what was in the dam, i entered the bushes it got a bit dark everything became quiet, no bird sounds or crickets , only the sound of my steps as i approached the dam, i saw shadows of 4 women sitting on banks of the dam.I approached to greet them, i was relieved that i am not alone, it was getting a bit tense, i greet them but they didn't reply, i walked towards them, two women jumped into the dam and remaining looked at me, they came to me and held my hands ,i took closer look at them and recognized them.

Low and behold it was the wives of the prosperous man, that had disappeared throughout the years, i try to speak, but they quickly asked "what have u came for" while they hold my hands side by side with an embrace only a man could appreaciate scared but also a bit excited, they lead me closer to the dam .

I want stop walking but their touch and warmth lead me without  resistance, out of the dam came a beautiful woman, fashioned to my liking as if my dream came true, every specification of mine met , she held me as the two ladies went into the dam . She called me by my name, good lord, i am overwhelmed by ecstasy i wanted her , her body dripped of water , i kissed her neck she climaxed with approval, she drew me closer to the dam, i didn't care all i wanted was her, i grabbed her hair she moaned a bit .

My feet got wet from the water, she came at me push me down, the force was so powerful it knocked some sense in me, i was charmed, when i realised, i was getting coiled by a black python so big and mighty it looked me and asked "am i not beautiful anymore........."

As it coiled me firmly it asked "if you serve me, i will give you all your hearts desires: women, money and power but u will need to feed me, i require gifts and for me to be your first wife" It loosen its grip as to give me a chance to consent or reject the offer, yet again i was mesmerized, i saw a beautiful woman, submissive to me,  i was a king with money , favour, cars and the lifestyles, i saw on tv ,we went into the dam.

It showed me all the victims who disobeyed it, all the bones of men who didn't bring sacrifices or stopped sleeping with it, for a minute it turned in big snake and it swallowed the prosperous man's soul (the captive soul was tied on it's neck). It came to me in the shape of a woman and said "tomorrow the man will wake up dead from a heart attack" he was too careless and become to complacent risking my discovery, so now u will take his place as the husband of the serpent.

I looked around so many souls of women and children sacrificed,  a bright light hit the water, the dam threw me out, it was morning so petrified ,i ran for dear life, i didn't look back , on my home i passed where the prosperous  man house used to stay, it was just an open field.
All his wives were crying , his possessions had turned to dust, the children had died
