a few months later.

April returned from her classes at the university with her feet dragging across the floor. They felt swollen and she was tired, all she wanted to do was rest. She dropped her school bag on the couch before heading up the stairs to the bedroom she shared with Neymar.

As she entered the room, she could hear running water coming from the direction of the bathroom and she assumed he was probably in the shower. She sat on the bed and let out a tired sigh. April thought about her aching feet and hoped for a foot massage. But she knew Neymar had his own physical pains to deal with and didn't want to ask.

It was a couple of more minutes before her Brazilian boyfriend emerged from the bathroom wearing a pair of FC Barcelona training shorts and a towel around his neck.

"Meu amor," He smiled at her. April was happy with the progress he was making at his therapy sessions. He had gone from using a wheelchair to using crutches now. But he was able to walk on his own for a couple of minutes without them. He walked towards the bed and sat down, turning to look at April. His smile dropped when he saw how tired she looked. "Maybe you should stop going to school until after the baby is born." He suggested, biting his lip nervously.

She shook her head. "I can't. The semester is ending in a couple of weeks and I want to finish before taking a break. But my feet are killing me." She closed her tired eyes.

"I can help with that." Neymar told her.

He got back on his feet and went around to her side, pulling up a chair to sit on. His hands pulled her shoes off carefully. She tried to stop him. "You don't have to do that, meu amor. I'll feel better after I take a nap."

Neymar stretched his arm in the direction of the nightstand, reaching for some lotion and grabbed it in his hand. He twisted the top off and squirted some of it onto his hands. When his thumbs dug into the pressure points at her feet, April felt like she was in heaven. She shut her eyes tightly and took a deep breath. Normally she was a ticklish person, but today she was too tired and her feet ached too much to even notice.

He continued massaging, his fingers moving in semi circles over the balls of her feet and back up to her toes. April let her brown eyes flutter open and she looked over at her handsome boyfriend. Her hands moved to rest over her growing belly subconsciously. "Daddy loves us, sweetie. That's why he spoils me." She said to their baby.

Chuckling, Neymar agreed. "Anything for minha Princesa and minha Rainha." My princess and my queen, he called them in Portuguese.

Ever since the pair found out their baby would be a little girl, Neymar started calling her his princess.

He was overjoyed to be having a little girl who he could spoil. He was happy with Davi Lucca, but he also always wanted to have a little girl. Now he would enjoy the best of both worlds. And they decided to name her Azul like the color of the sky above. Azul like the ocean. Like the away jersey that he wore to represent his home country. Like the stripes on his blaugrana Barca jersey. Like the most beautiful things in life, she would be Azul.

April was asleep in the bedroom, having been put out like a light after the massage he gave her. Neymar went down to the livingroom. Ever since he stopped needing his wheelchair, he hated sitting still for too long. He now appreciated the fact that he could still walk, even though he couldn't do it long enough to play football.

He was determined to work hard until he could return to a football field.

On the coffee table, he saw a small stack of letters. He picked them up in his hands and looked through them. Some were from April's family.

Though they were nice to him, he knew they didn't agree with April being so far away from them. They often tried convincing April to return to the United States. Neymar couldn't help but feel upset at this. He feared that they would end up convincing her and she would leave.

Who would want to be with a cripple like him anyway?

He feared April would realize that and leave.

The rest of the mail contained bills and spam mail, that is until he saw the last envelope. There was familiar handwriting on it. Oscar Emboaba. 123 Haven Street. Chelsea, England.

Neymar tore the letter open and pulled out what seemed like a party invitation. But it was white and decorated in a more sophisticated way than any regular party. You are invited... It read in cursive letters.

He flipped the card open to read what the invitation was for.

When April woke up, it was early at night. Neymar was already laid in bed next to her, ready to go to sleep. He noticed she was awake and smiled at her, commenting, "You really were tired, meu amor."

She nodded, stretching her arms over her head. "Mhm."

He reached for something on his nightstand and April saw it was a white invitation with rose decorated borders and fancy cursive writing on the front. Neymar handed his girlfriend the invitation, telling her, "It looks like Oscar is getting married." He didn't sound surprised, like he knew it would happen eventually.

Her brown eyes read over the invitation. "It says they're getting married in Mexico city."

"Yeah." Neymar nodded.

"Are you ready to see your mates again?" April wondered. It had been several months since his mates last saw him and though they were aware he made progress, they didn't know he didn't use a wheelchair anymore.

"I'm nervous." He admitted. "But I want to show my friends I won't let myself be defeated by an injury."

"That's the spirit, meu amor." April smiled proudly, pushing herself off the bed with some effort. Neymar motioned to help her, but she shook her head. She was going to change clothes and get a few things done before finally settling into bed for the night. "They'll be so happy to see you recovering so well." She told him, picking out some clothes from the closet.

Neymar thought about seeing his mates again. He knew that with every passing day he was closer to achieving his goal.

One day he would wear the jersey of his home country and the one of his club team again.
