Prologue

Yeah, I'm taking on yet another project, just another step in me becoming a younger version of George R. Martin......(Yeah, my Suspiria and Pacman and the Ghostly adventures obsessed brain is totally to blame for creating this in the first place, so yeah, here it is.....) Hint, it's the one my first Betrayus x OC story was created from... *cough* Pacman and the ghostly adventures *cough*    Have I become fandom trash yet? *probably*  But then again, the series was pretty dark if you think about it, so maybe I'm fine....... Anyway, I hope you beasties enjoy this little au I've created, and I really hope that I'm  not mangling anything too much(*crosses fingers and prays to the pmatga gods that I'm not messing this up*).....

Oh, and here's a song to play while you're reading this chapter, if you're interested! I think it's quite fitting for a prologue, don't you?

Would you like to hear a story?

There's a legend hidden within these walls. A story that spans years, even centuries. A story of

But then of course, there's a story in everything, isn't there. People, items, even the very land itself is made of stories.

I'll only repeat this once, so you better listen, and listen good....

But not all stories are good ones, or even ones that you'd want to share with your children, tucked up in bed late at night, the ones that'd make them confident in people's ability to be good, that the hero always wins in the end, saves the fair maiden, and walks away physically and mentally unscathed......

No. Some stories are dark things indeed, where even the most pure of people can hide blackened souls, things are never as they seem, you can never trust anybody, and as for something  seemingly as simple like love?

It might not be a pretty story, but I promise you, something good will come out of it...

If it doesn't end happily-ever after, which that few things rarely ever do, the love between the hero and heroine, the beast and beauty, the prince and princess, winds up tearing them apart, such as love often does to any person foolish enough to find it.

Listen......

But other times, love can bloom in the most strange and unexpected of places, if only we are brave enough to accept the thorns with the flowers.......

But I'm getting ahead of myself here! After all, we can't just fast-forward to all the nice parts right away! Sometimes you've got to go through the dark and painful parts of the story before we are rewarded with the good parts.....

Listen....

Like all stories, let us start at the beginning. After all, everything needs to start somewhere, just like everything will eventually come to its natural end.

Listen.....

A girl, about sixteen or seventeen years of age,  long  red hair partially done up- a rather unique hairstyle, to be sure- into two side buns on the top of her head(while leaving a good portion of the unstyled long hair down her back), clutching a duffle bag in one hand, struggling with her backpack over her shoulder. She looks exhausted, mainly because she's been on a six hour flight to a strange country she's  never been for until today, or the fact that the car that was supposed to be taking her to the school where she'd won her scholarship to hadn't bothered to show up yet, leaving her standing in the pouring rain.
