Jordan's POV

After I told Kevin I'll see him later I left Sam's apartment. My dad texted me to come home because we need to have a "talk", "talks" with my dad are really just an excuse for my dad to yell and berate me or in worse cases hit me, that's how I got the scar on my nose but I just tell people it was a "biking accident". Since I have graduated high school and moved into the dorm I haven't seen my mom or dad. I call an Uber to drop me off at my dads house, when I get there I walk up to the door and its open, and I take that as an invitation to walk in.

As soon as I walk in the smell of beer and cigarettes hits my nose. "Dad!!" I yell as loud as I can he doesn't respond, so I start looking around I find an old picture of my family before the problems started, before my mom and dad got divorced, before I was forced to live my dad, before he got addicted to alcohol, before he started hitting me. Next thing I now I have tears in my eyes, I quickly wipe them away before my dad finds me, he always said "Crying is for pansies and my son is not a pansy understand". I would always get scared and respond with "Yes sir".

I decide to keep the photo just for the memories, as I shove the photo into my pocket I hear a deep voice yell "I KNOW!! My son did not turn into a pansy during his first year of college. I immediately freeze and turn around to see my dad with anger in his eyes, when I was little he would punish me by not allowing me to eat dinner and breakfast but now I'm older. "Pull up your shirt" he looked me dead in the face, I did what I was told the next thing I know his fist hits me in the side but I take it knowing there's more coming.

A couple hits later and I look down to see a bruise but its okay cause my shirt covers it, once I pull down my shirt I look to my dad and he says with a smile on his face "That was a great talk son" then he walks away. I proceed to call an Uber back to the canvas, while I ride in the Uber I text Kevin saying we have to talk I'm finally gonna tell someone about the situation with my dad.
