Meadow was swiftly looking through her old box, but as her fingers touched the foreign yet familiar fingerprint necklace, it was like time had stopped. A million memories flashed before her eyes. Her mind went a thousand steps backwards, to a time when everything seemed perfect. A time where she can say confidently that she was happy....

~Flashback~
You can see a young looking Meadow running around her backyard being chased by someone she truly and deeply misses...someone who gave her a reason to smile her brother Kiran.
As Meadow was running, smiling and laughing, she looked around. On the side you could see her father laughing while her mother smiles recording them.
~End Of Flashback~

As Meadow recounts the memory, she could hardly wrap her head around what it felt like to be genuinely happy—to truly be able to laugh. It's been so long, so long since her beam of light has been gone. With the death of Kiran, every ounce of meadow's happiness had died along with it. She still remembers the late night talks, sneaking out with him to eat, dropping everything just to make her happy even if she was upset over the stupidest things... And within the snap of a finger, all that had been taken away from her and with a crash of a car he was taken from her...

Meadow put everything away except the necklace. She held on to that with a firm grab. She slowly walked out her room to go to a place she hasn't been in for a year. As she walked she wanted to look into her mother's room but decided against it, considering she didn't want to see her mother at that moment. As she continued dread suddenly hit her. "What if it makes me relapse?"

She couldn't continue her thoughts as she was already in front of the door she knew all to well. She slowly opened it. As she quietly walked in she looked around. It's all the same as he left it... the old baseball trophies, old pictures, his old clothes... Meadow walked around touching everything. She slowly walked towards a picture, she picked it up and blew on it considering it had some dust. As she looked at the picture she recognized it to be the day she had remembered where she was happy, where he chased her, where her family was whole...where he was still young and alive. Meadow couldn't believe it's been a year. Meadow now 15 will soon have to celebrate her brother's 18 birthday...oh how bittersweet.

"Depressing, enough of that" Meadow thought to herself. With one last look, she left her brother's room. Hesitantly, meadow decided to go to her mother, Nora's room. "She's probably passed out again anyway" Meadow thought. After Kiran's death, and her husband's arrest... Nora had turned to drugs to cope with both her losses.
To meadows surprise however, Nora was sitting on her bed. Meadow felt her heart sink as she looked into her mothers eyes to see all the life drained from those once hopeful eyes. Her eyes were black and hollow—screaming at you to take her out of this world. Nora, who had used to wake up everyday saying "it's a great day to be alive", had crumbled into nothing more than a crackhead.

Meadow's sadness slowly Turing into anger forgetting what she even came in for. Why couldn't her mother be ok? Why couldn't she be strong...strong enough to be there for Meadow...after all she's all Nora has left...she could easily loose her too..yet that doesn't seem to bother her at all...
