Meadow woke up feeling refreshed and unusually happy. She let out a small yawn as she stretched her arms. She looked out the window to see the morning sun shining brightly. She went to grab her necklace as a form a comfort but it was gone.

She started panicking and looked around everywhere. She sprung out of bed quickly and looked for it everywhere. Right before she was going to cry the door suddenly opened to reveal Kiran. He smiled at her and greeted with a good morning.

Meadow froze in her track and stared at her older brother. So many thoughts going through her head. She felt tears slowly start streaming down her face. Everything slowed down as she ran towards him. She closed her eyes as she held him.

She finally felt at home...she was incredibly happy. She was shaking as she let out small sobs. Her brother held onto her tightly and rubbed his hands up and down her back.

He looked down at her with a warm gaze and kissed her forehead. She looked up at him with a small smile. She hugged tighter scared he was going to disappear again.

He slowly let go and pushed her away gently trying to get some space. Right when she looked up he was gone. She tried looking around the room in hopes he was sitting on her bed. She started to hyperventilate when she couldn't see him and quickly ran downstairs in hopes of finding him.

When she reached the living room it was empty. She checked around the house and there wasn't signs of anything. She kneeled down and held her face frustratingly. She started to shake once again feeling as though she was about to have a heart attack. Her happiness was slowly fading away, she didn't know what to do.

She looked up to see a door appear in front of her. She quickly stood up and looked at it with puffy eyes and confusion behind them. She reached for the doorknob and she walked through it. She was now on the side of a freeway where a bunch of cars passed by quickly.

She looked around and shivered at the cold wind hitting her wet face. She looked around in the hopes of understanding where she was. She looked at the signs and recognized the freeway as the one where her brother got into the accident. Once she looked back down it felt like her world stopped.

In slow motion she saw her brothers car crush into another. She screamed at the sight she just witnessed. She saw the fear in her brothers eyes. The inaudible scream he was trying to let out. All of a sudden time went back to normal and both the cars were now wrecked.

Meadow quickly ran to Kiran's car and pulled on the door. When she couldn't she punched the window in anger. Smashing it into tiny pieces. Her knuckles now bleeding as she pulled her brother out of the window. His face all covered in blood just like the rest of his body.

She was now having a panic attack at seeing him like this all over again. She was then teleported to the hospital. It felt like  she was reliving everything once more. She was shaking uncontrollably and having a hard time breathing. Her vision very blurry as the people around her tried calming her down. Nothing was working. Hours passed and still no signs of a doctor coming.

A few more hours passed and she was now calmer. She was silently praying in hopes God was listening to her. When the doctor showed up, everyone there quickly stood up with hopeful looks. The doctor shook his head with a pitiful look. Meadows mom let out a heart wrenching scream and fell to her knees. Her father right beside her mom holding her with some teary eyes. Meadows best friend silently cried as she held Meadow's hand.

Meadow just sat there no clear emotion on her face. She felt absolutely numb but she knew tears were streaming. A few minutes passed since the news and the nurses came towards her a teddy bear in her hands. As Meadow was given the doll she looked at it with pure hatred in her now pale face.

She threw it to the side as though it was on fire and it was burning her hands. That stupid doll wasn't going to bring her brother back. She got up and ran out the door as everyone called after her. She just ran into the dark night. She was blaming herself badly...she could've saved him. If she was just fast enough he would still be here.

She just kept running no clear idea on where she'd go. She quickly got tired since all her energy was drained. She went and sat under a nearby tree and rested. It was slightly pouring not enough for her to get fully wet but she could feel the drops of rain. It felt as though the weather was making fun of her. She closed her eyes as the tiredness took over once more.

A few moments passed and she suddenly woke up and sat up very quickly drenched in sweat. She looked around only to see what she was back into her bedroom. She looked at the time to see that it was 6am. She sighed and put her face in her hands and tried to silently cry. She tried covering her mouth so her mother wouldn't hear. She looked around to see that teddy bear staring at her.

She closed her eyes tightly and reached out for it. She hugged it tightly as she wiped her flowing tears. That bear was the only thing she had besides the necklace that was left of her brother. Even if it held a very bad memory she kept it. She grew to like it more. It was the closest thing she had to a hug from her brother.

She suddenly heard sirens outside her window as they passed by. She hugged her bear even tighter as she possibly could. She hated that specific noise even more now.  It just brought back memories of the day he was no longer with her. She sighed and for the rest of the morning she didn't move.

She only kept her eyes outside the window as if it was the most fascinating thing in the world. It was raining slightly and everything felt all like that day. She couldn't do anything though even if she wanted. She felt helpless and hopeless just like when she was first told the news. She was now left in the lifeless room with an empty feeling.
