I groan. "Please go away."
The knocks persist.
My eyes are dry from all of the tears. "I will be out later."
"No can do," calls a harsh yet feminine voice.
I wipe my tears away, but my eyes are still puffy no doubt.
Three more knocks.
I breath in. "Come in."
A girl opens the door, but doesn't move from the doorway. I look her up and down. She's about my age and very tall. You can see her muscles through her clothing. She wears the same body suit as me. Her wavy lavender hair falls perfectly over her shoulders and ends at her waist.
"Hate to interrupt your crying session, but your presence is requested in the training room." She puta one hand on the doorframe and another on her hip.
I really didn't think I'd have to leave this room so soon. I only got here like ten minutes ago.
She sighs and rolls her eye. "Today, Princess."
I get out of bed and follow her. She walks extraordinarily quick and I have trouble keeping up with her.
"What is your name?"
"Xero."
"Why do I have to go to training?"
"Eklan wants to assess your values."
"Why is that?"
She stops and faces me. She looks down at me. "I don't know and I don't care."
She faces forward again and continues to walk.
"I'm not a child. I'm just trying to get some answers."
"Don't get me wrong, Princess, I think you are very brave for not losing your shit yet, but that will probably change soon."
"And why is that?" I'm stumbling over myself at this point.
She doesn't answer. We continue to zoom our way through the halls until we arrive at the training center. Xero takes a badge out of her boot and places it against some type of sensor. The light above the door turns green and opens for us. She steps through first and I follow.
It's a large open arena with different stations set up for combat training.
She sizes me up. "Let me guess...Kobou training."
My mouth opens slightly from shock. "How did you know."
She scoffs so forcefully you would think she was choking on oxygen. "Look at you."
I look down at my body and shake my head.
"You're about 5'7, which means you are too short for Wakanee training and too tall for Gevun and Julpel. That leaves Kobou, Quovo, and Resko. You have broad shoulders and very muscular legs and arms, but your core is not very strong. Your hair is not tied into braids meaning that you don't do much close combat. Kobou is the only one that make sense."
Everything she said is true. I'm not quite sure if this is her job, or her hobby, but she deserves a reward for her knowledge level.
Xero grabs a bag with Kobou written on it. Her steps are light yet firm as she leads the way to the back corner. The bag falls onto the ground and the contents splatter across the floor.
"Which one do you want to start with?" Xero kneels by the weapons and awaits my response.
I look down at the collection of blades sprawled across the floor. Xero straightens them out as I look over my options.
