She laughed and threw out a king,queen and a jack and placed her last card in the pick up pile. I slammed my cards down on the table and laughed along with her.
I used to love playing card games with my Mother. Especially 500 rum.
"510 points! Woo. Now where the kids at?" She Asked
"At the playground or in the back yard" I respond
"Let's take a walk and go look for them before I leave"
This sounded suspect. She probably had something to tell me. Oh lordt. "Sure, lemme grab my keys" ___________ "Sorry I kept him a secret for almost a damn year I just didn't want you to think that I moved on too quick. He just made me happy since your dad died and I just got tired of crying myself to sleep every night." She explained
I laughed "ma, dad would want you to be happy. As long as your happy I'm okay with it. So... is he cute?"
"You'll see. He wants to meet you and the kids one day this week. Y'all down?" She asked
"Yeah Ma. I don't work Wednesday and Thursday so just choose a day and let me know"
"Cool" ____________ "Since y'all stole us from the playground and our friends can we have something from the ice cream truck. It's coming look!" Cordae asked
"Sure" Ma said
As soon as we got back to the house Ma got her hugs and kisses from everybody and got in her car and drove off.
"It's almost dinner time. Pizza or carry out?"
Literally ten minutes later we were still deciding on pizza or carry out. Oh my god.
"HEY LOOK! Why don't we just get both. I think this carry out sells pizza. Now what else should we get?"
"Three mixed teas!" Kentrell said
"A large fry" Nick says
"Can we have steak and cheese egg rolls?" Taylor asked
"Is that all?"
"Yes?" Taymor said as he looked around the room
They all shook their heads yes and I walked to the kitchen and grabbed the menu and ordered the food.
"Y'all owe me some money. It all came up to $46.20"
Taymor and Jay
I rolled my eyes and took a sit on the couch.
"Ma can we play monopoly?" Dani asked
In the middle of our game the food came. We decided to eat the food and watch nobody's fool. before the movie was over Nick, Cordae, Dani and Zion fell asleep on the floor next to each other while everybody continued to watch the movie.
When the movie was over it was nearing ten o'clock. We put monopoly up and decided to sleep downstairs.
I went upstairs to grab covers and pillows for everybody. Taymor was the only one that slept on the couch. ______________
It was Thursday and we accepted to go to the beach with my mother and her boyfriend.
"He should be here in a minute or two. I think he's parking" She reassured us
I could see that she was nervous so I made her help us set up our spot. We laid out towels and got the big umbrella to stick in the sand.
I called every child over for drink, sunscreen and bug spray.
I'm glad all of my kids can swim. Well besides Taymor.
"OH LOOK! I see him. Right here Lenny!" Ma says as she waved her arms in the air.
I get off my towel and stand up so I can introduce myself. As he got closer he got cuter. My mom out did herself I see.

"Sorry if I'm a little late I was trying to make sure parking was good" Lenny stated
"Oh that alright. Um we already set up the cooler so you can put the beer in there and I would like to introduce you to my daughter, Tichina, and all of my lovely grandkids that she gave me" she announced
"Hi it's nice to meet you" I say as I put my hand out for him to shake.
I hear the kids run over. "Ooo grandma he a cutie" Keisha screamed as she ran over.
He smiled and greeted all my kids as they came over.
"Wow such beautiful kids" he stated
"Thank you" me and my mom replied
Just because you raised them half my life don't mean nothing. 🙄
The rest of the day we got to know one another as we swam and drink beer. Unfortunately we had to cut the meet and greet short because Cordae got stung by a jelly fish.
"I hope you gone be alright man. I had fun with y'all today. Maybe next week or so we can learn how to surf!" He said as he walked us to the car. "Yall have a good night" he ended
The kids all yelled goodbye to grandma as we hopped in the car and was on our way back home.
"I wish my dad was that cute" Taylor mumbled
"Don't make me snitch" Jay said
"Snitches get stitches" Nick said as he slapped jays neck
