*Thank you for reading! This is hopefully going to be a trilogy, but for now enjoy the first chapter*

I watch as my thick blonde locks fall down my shoulder and I let out a sigh. A man rammed into me, muttering an "excuse me" as he quickly walks away. I pull Kristina, my daughter close to me. "Ignore them, Krissy." I mutter as I pull her close to me. She looks exactly like me except she has chocolate brown eyes.

Pale skin and thick blonde hair. Just like me. We walk in unison, her little three year old feet wearing dirty old flip flops. We didn't have much money, let me tell you that.

As we walk through the busy streets of New York, we find a Jimmy John's. Kristina reaches for it with her little hands. I pick her up with a sigh. "Do you want to eat there?" I ask her and she nods her head with a giggle. "Okay, I guess." I say with a sigh. I open the door and smell a fresh scent of freshly baked bread and sandwich toppings. Putting Kristina down, I grab her hand and walk up to the front, I order our food.

I get Kristina a kid's meal. We sit down to wait for our food, Kristina in a high chair. I reach into my wallet to find that I'm a dollar short on our sandwich money. "Well, shit." I mutter as I put my wallet away. Maybe I could get away with it, I don't know.

The man brings our dinner and I politely thank him as he leaves. Me and Kristina eat for a while, we're having a pretty good time. We finish up our sandwiches and I quickly put down the money and leave, they didn't seem to notice.

I practically drag Kristina as I run away, hoping we didn't get caught. When we reach our neighborhood, it clears up. A lot. We don't live in the best neighborhood. I walk by the first apartment place and watch as some teenager puffs smoke from a cigarette. He gives us a dirty look as we walk into the scond apartment place, my apartment place. He watches us as he litters his cigarette butt on the floor, lighting another one.

I carry Kristina up the stairs and I stick my keys into the hole. I jiggle them around until I hear the satisfying "click" of the door unlocking. I twist the rusty door-knob and I use all my body weight to press the door open. I walk into our crappy-looking apartment as I shut the door. It stunk in here. I put Kristina down and she runs into her room. I giggle at the sight of her running.

I heard my flip-phone ringing. I walk over, flip it up and press answer. I press the cold phone to my ear. "Hello?" I ask. "Hello!" A perky voice calls from the other line. It's obviously a male. "We would like to inform you that you won a free trip to London!" The perky voice cheers. "What? No, I believe your mistaken, sir. I never entered a giveaway for a trip to London." I inform the man.

"It's no giveaway! We chose five people and call them to give them their prize!" I blink unsure. "This is probably just a scam. Sorry, but no." I say and I start to hang up. "WAIT! NO!" I hear him scream across the line. I press the phone back to my ear. "What?" I hiss.

"This is a once in a lifetime opportunity! We'll give you a trip to a five star resort! We'll pay for the whole thing, anything you want to do in London, we'll pay!" He pleads. I think about it. "Can I take my daughter?" I ask carefully.

"No, but she will stay with at a daycare with the other four's children, if they have any." He says. "I don't think I can leave my daughter, I'm sorry." I say. "Please! She will be in good care and we'll give you a great break." I let out a dramatic sigh. "Okay, I suppose. When will you pick us up?" I hear him squeal from the other line. "Tomorrow at ten, be there and be aware!" He says before hanging up.
