"I Was Just Getting Out Of The Way"

I was up to bat, like normal ready to hit. I had 1 strike and 2 balls and there was one of my teammates on second. The pitcher threw the ball and it was below my knees so I didn't swing. But the ball rolled out of the catcher's mit and over by my feet, so I stepped away so the catcher could try to make a play but the umpire immediately called me out.

Yes I know some umps follow the rule that you have to keep one foot in the box, but I had to get out of the way. Everyone stopped and looked confused while the other team on the bench laughed. Two of my coaches came over and one of the parents came over and started yelling at the ump.

I stood there awkwardly as they yelled and some of my teammates yelled at me to get in the dugout. And turns out that the ump said that I was interfering with the play, and the rest of the game he randomly called me out.
