Chapter 3

I was awoken abruptly in the morning by Lacey pulling me off of my bed."look kid I know I barely know you, but I'd like to, so you're going to get off of your lazy, sleep till 11:30, butt and get in the shower. You're coming out to lunch with me and my friends." I blinked at her quickly a couple times while comprehending what she had said before picking myself up off of the floor and retreating to the bathroom. I washed my face and slid my hoodie on over the t-shirt from yesterday not bothering to change out of it, or my jeans from the day before. I brushed the knots out of my wretched hair hoping for once it would do as it was told, and surprisingly enough, it did.

I opened the door and turned to find Lacey applying her make-up. I smirked at the face she was making and grabbed my phone. I scrolled through my contacts until i reached Kaelee. I walked out of the front door and waved a "one second" finger in Lacey's direction as i pressed the call button. My sister was known for not answering her phone calls so when she answered the phone on the first try I was quite surprised.

"Hey Izotz, look i'm...um a bit preoccupied right now, i swear i'm fine, i'll call you back later okay?bye!" she sputtered out and before i even had the chance to get a word edge wise in she hung up. I frowned and shoved my phone back into the pocket of my hoodie before popping back inside.Lacey was rushing around the room seemingly looking for something.

"Hey Lacey what are you looking for?"I asked her and she looked up at me with a surprised look on her face. I then relized that i hadn't really talked to her much, i mostly communicated with her in head nods and mouth twitches.

Her face returned to normal and she sighed "my phone, it has a blue case on it thats shaped like a whale" I bit my lip trying to hold in my laughter before begining to help her look. We finally found her phone, underneath her bed. She told me she would be right back and walked into the hallway. While she was in the hallway Izotz found him staring at the pictures of her and her friends she had hung on the wall.

Lacey's friends were all strangely beautiful. It was almost as if she was only friends with models. One of her friends in particular stood out to me, his head was littered with messy brown hair and his eyes We're striking in the most unfamiliar way. My blonde hair and green eyes were nothing compared to his beauty. In half of these pictures he seemed happy, as such a beautiful person should be, but in the other half he looked far too serious. As i was staring at the pictures Lacey returned to her room and made a strange face at me before smirking and gesturing towards our door to leave.

I followed her out the door and down our never ending hallways until we finally escaped. She shoved her finger onto the unlock button before climbing into her black acura and looking up at me, waiting for me to do the same.

The car ride wasn't very long but it helped me realize she listened to some of the same things that i did. 20 minites were spent in the car listening to bands like phish or The Beatles.

We arrived at the diner and parked far from the entrance, we didn't have to but Lacey said she liked walking so she always parked as far away as she could get. We made our way inside and my eyes immediately picked out the same brunette from the picture on Laceys wall. They all started waving at us at a pink haired girl who was at the table fell out of her chair. I couldn't help but laugh at them all jumping around like fish out of water.

Lacey sat down next to a red haired boy leaving the only open space next to the brunette. "This is Aiden"she said gesturing towards the brunette from the picture."this is jennifer" she said nodding her head towars the pink haires girl while bitting a bit off of some french fries someone had bought" this is Josh and thats kenna" she said refering to the red head whom she'd sat next to and the blonde girl next to him. After pausing for a second she pointed at me and said"guys, Izotz, voila you have met"

Everyone smiled at me and we exchanged a couple of hello's before everyone started having a discussion about some show or something. My eyes slowly but surely made their way over to aiden his eyes were a beautiful green color with highlights of gold. He smelled like pine needles and peaches, oh god why does he smell so nice? He furrowed his brows and turned to focus on me, he rested his head on his hand and gave me a confused look. I then realized i had been asked a question and hadn't been paying attention because these people looked like freaking models!

"Izotz? Kenna asked if you had any silblings" Aiden said. His voice was deep and as smooth as a river rock.

"Oh yeah i do, i have a 16 year old sister, her name is kaelee." I said suddenly worried about my sister due to the fact she still hadn't called me back. I must have seemed upest because i got an echo of what's wrongs from everyone sitting at the table. A held up a finger and whipped my phone out. I sent a text to my sister letting her know i was worried about her and she needed to let me know what was going on.

They all gave me expecting looks and raised a single brow. "My sister never called me back after abruptly hanging up on me earlier." I informed them jiggling slightly as I awaited a reply from kaelee.

We all sat in silence before kaelee finally responded. What she responded seemed to simply be a street address  and the words "come now." I looked up towards everyone and filled them in on the situation.

"Shoot Izotz I can't take you I need my car to get to an interview" lacey said wile giving me a sad look. I gave her a slight head nod as if to say it's fine and she gave me a weak smile.

"I can take you" the words sounded like silk, it was Aiden. His deep green eyes connected with mine as soon as he began to speak. "And don't even think about saying no, you aren't taking the bus" he continued.

I nodded to him and we both stood up, the rest of the group all said their goodbyes and lacey made her way out the door with us.

After lacey departed from us to go to her car, which ended up being on the complete opposite side of the parking lot to Aiden's, aiden and I had drifted quite close together, but he must not have noticed being that he hadn't stepped away. Shortly after I realized how close together we where walking his hand brushed up against mine, it sent a shock throughout my entire body and my breathing halted for a second.

What was that.

Did his hand accidentally touching me seriously make me feel amazing? I then realized Aiden and I had come to a full stop. I slowly turned my head towards him only to see him staring straight back at me with the same surprised expression I had on my face.  My eyes darted around him looking for a sign that he was angry or upset at me. I saw nothing. Nothing but a look of surprise, and something else, but what it was I did not know.

After a moment of looking at each other Aiden abruptly turned away and continued heading towards his car. Soon after I followed him my phone buzzed I'm my pocket

I whipped it out fast assuming it was my sister, but it was not, it was lacy the text message read "what in the world did I just watch" dang it she saw. I responded to her with the truth "nothing" and shut aidens car door behind myself.
