chapter 24

Erick's POV

I haven't seen or smelled Ella since the day I found her holed up in an old coyote hole and she bite me. My Dad has, had to take over the Alpha duties because I couldn't concentrate, with my mate being gone.
The day she disappeared, we found her brother fighting the guards, he was finally killed by his Dad in the end. I then followed her scent to the forest and then it disappeared, my sly girl clooked her scent, but it also ment I couldn't track her and with her blocking the mindlinks, I couldn't talk to her.
I have been searching everywhere by myself, because having the guards obviously scared her off the last time. I have a suspension that the wild wolf side took over and that's why I was bitten by her, I'm just hoping that she's ok and not feral at this point.
I am also panicking because it's due time for the pup to be born. I know she can do it alone but she shouldn't have to.
After walking what felt like forever, I smell her, with my nose to the ground, my wolf ghost is trying to contact Izzy. "I know she can hear me, but she won't answer, I'm not blocked anymore" ghost says excited.
I follow her scent to a hole small enough for a wolf to just barely fit. Her scent is everywhere around here. "Izzy, Ella please come out of the den," I plead with them. I hear a grumble, growl on the inside and a little bit of movement, but she doesn't come out. I notice it's getting dark out. "Can I come in," I ask. "I suppose but be careful," she replies back. I don't recognize the voice, "it's Izzy," ghost tells me.
I crawl into the hole and I see her curled up in the far back of her den. Which I discover I can almost stand up in. I crawl up to her and lay down. "Izzy can I please have Ella back," I ask her. She looks at me and gives a wolfy eye roll in her dark green eyes, which tells me it's still Izzy. As she looks at me, I see her eyes changing to the lighter green eyes I have missed so much.
Ella whinnes are touches her nose to mine, but is careful not to move. "She had our pup," ghost says in mindlink. I sniff around but all I smell is Ella. "Can I see the pup, baby," I ask her. She moves a little bit but just enough to expose the pup.
I look over her side, but I'm shocked to see that there's not just one, but two. "We had twins," I say to her. "Yes, a boy and a girl," she says. I lick her head and lay my head on her side. Afraid to get closer to the pups at the moment. I don't want Izzy getting over protective. Watching our pups, I soon fall asleep cuddled up with Ella.
