Six months ago, everthing had seemed dead for James Walker. Life had begun to seem like a curse for him. And no one could imagine to survive, after such an incident which shook the firm roots of his life and threw it apart like a catastrophe.
Life's at once was all good, the flow was continous. It seemed it would go on the same forever. The sun shone every morning, the moon gave light to every dark night, along with the glimpses of the shining twinlking stars that comforted the soul. With Sniora Jones by his side, every worry, every pain of his life seemed but a tic-tac-toe game. He could walk anywhere with her blindfolded, let alone the worry of a single scratch. After meeting Sniora, the orphaned boy, whose parents had passed away when he was just fifteen, had got a new life. He had got someone who was more miraculous than the world's most powerful detergent, cleansing every stain of his heart in a moment, with her captivating words. Just two years had passed since she first met him, but now it seemed as if she was there from the beginning and would be there till the end like a shadow.
But James was wrong. The biggest mistake of life is to be presumptive about it, and James had commited it. He had shut himself in a dark room unwilling to face anymore of the dark reality outside. The cruel fate had something else in store for him. He climbed a mountain, with pseudo stairs, but now there seemed no way he could get down. He could very well recount each incident of that fateful day.It made warm tears pour down his eyes, chasing one another as they fell down.
It was 31st December, just a day before the New Year. He had promised Sniora that they would go shopping together. Taking his Harley Davidson, thundering through the busy streets of Seagon, James could not help but think of the next morning when they were going to be engaged, his dreams coming to life. But what he saw when he reached there, made his survival a curse. No one could expect such a new year's surprise, bigger than what he himself had planned for them. The house of Sniora was burning into flames, her cries as she helplessly shouted through the window, still echoed in his ears. He had tried his best to save her, but it was not his piece of cake this time. He was too late. There was a short-circuit in the main switch, and in a few minutes the whole house was on flames they said. Infront of his own eyes, he lost his most beloved possession, as he stood a puny creature compared to fate's ultimate power to decide.
And now after six months, when everthing was over for the guy, suddenly the phone rang. He ignored it once, twice and then thrice, but when it ran for the fourth time he had no choice but to pick it up.
"Who is it? Its James speaking" he answered picking up the reciever.
"Mr. James Walker, we need to talk to you about the murder case of Miss Sniora. Please report to the Seagon police station as quick as possible. Its extremely urgent."
"Murder!!!", James could not believe his ears as he hung up the phone. As far as he had remembered it was the short circuit in the house, which caused the fire, leading to Sniora's death.
His wounds became fresh and more traumatic and the whole incident flashed through his mind as if it had happened yesterday. It gave him a sickening feeling and the word MURDER made it all the more worse. His nerves started streching out, his body was losing control, legs had become unsteady. There was a terrible pain in his head, as he spinned around and around and fell down on the floor with darkness all over.
