"Stefan?" I said knocking on his bedroom door.
"Elizabeth! What do I owe the pleasure" he asked as he opened his door.
"I was wondering if you would like to be my escort to the Miss Mystic Falls Pageant" i asked.
"Of course Elizabeth I would love too" Stefan said giving me a hug.
"Love too what?" Katherine asked as she walked into Stefan's room.
"Be her escort" Stefan said with a smile.
"Really?" She said giving me a dirty look
"Yeah" i said with a smile.
"I have to go get ready for the pageant dance class is at 5:30" i said with a smile as i left.
I ran down to my fathers office and he wasn't in there.
"Father?" I yelled
"Elizabeth" i heard a familiar voice.
"Damon!" I yelled turning around.
Damon had be away fighting in the war the battle of Willow Creek to be exact.
PRESENT
"The battle at Willow Creek" the teacher said bringing me out of my thoughts.
"Took place right at the end of the war, here in our very own Mystic Falls" he continued
"How many casualty's resulted in this battle?" He asked
"Miss Bennett" he said making her jump up she was falling asleep.
"Um a lot. I'm not sure but like a whole lot" she said with a smile.
Couple kids laughed.
"Cute becomes dumb in an instant" the teacher said.
"Mr. Donavon would you like to take this opportunity to over come your jock stereo type" he asks
"It's okay Mr. Turner I'm cool" He said.
"Elena perhaps you can enlighten us about our towns most significant event" Turner said.
"I'm sorry but no" she said.
"I was willing to be lenient last year for obvious reasons but the person excuses ended with summer break" he said.
I looked up at him and then at Stefan then at Elena.
That wasn't fair for him to do that it takes more time to grave over parents.
"346 causalitys unless you're counting local civilians" Stefan spoke up.
"That's correct Mr." Turner pointed at him.
"Salvatore" Stefan answered.
"Salvatore" he repeated. "Any relation to the original Salvatore's that lived in Mystic Falls" he asked.
Relation? We are them and i hate pretending we aren't i hate pretending this is all okay. I wanted a family and to grow old and die like normal. I had a crush on Alex Lockwood i dreamt of marrying him but after i became a monster all my dreams went away. In fact he's the human blood that transitioned me Katherine killed him to make me what i am today.
"My sister and I are distantly related" Stefan said slowly.
"Very good. Except there was no civilian casualties" Turner said as he passed his chalk between hands.
False i sat there and thought.
"Actually there was 27 sir. Confederate soldiers fired on a church believing it to be holding weapons. They were wrong it was a night of great loss" Stefan said slowly.
"Mystic Falls Books are held in city hall if you would like to brush up on your facts sir" Stefan said.
Mr. Tanner was quite and everyone in class turned and looked at Stefan. Apparently nobody has ever made him silent probably because he's never had a 100 and something year old vampire in his class.
Later that day
"Are we sure we want to go to this Liz?" Stefan asked me.
"Yes now come on" i said with a smile.
We walked up and there was a bunch of people blood bags walking as my old friend called them.
Stefan tuned in with his vampire hearing to find Elena so i followed suit and found her.
"Okay he's a little pretty" she said
"He has a romance novel stare" Bonnie said.
Just as we were about to head over Carolina pulled Stefan away to get a drink.
I found Bonnie and Elena and walked over just as Bonnie grabbed an empty bottle from Elena. Bonnie whipped her hand away.
"What? What did you see?" Elena asked.
"A crow, fog, and a man" Bonnie said.
Elena looked freaked out.
"It was nothing I'm drunk" Bonnie said as they finally noticed i was there.
"Lizzie! Wheres Stefan?" Elena asked
"Not sure he went for a drink and to find you guys but i won" i said with a smile as i thought back to when i was a kid.
Stefan and Damon would play hide and seek with me and let me win all the time they choose the stupidest spots to hide in and i always found them.
"I'm going to get a refill" Bonnie said as she walked away.
"Bonnie wait" Elena said turning and watching her and when she turned around Stefan was there.
"Hi" she said as she jumped.
"Hi, i did it again didn't i ?" Stefan asked.
"Yeah" she nodded with a smile.
She was so much different than Katherine the only similarity was the face and that was good i actually seen myself becoming friends with Elena. As long as she doesn't turn into Katherine that is.
"Sorry" Stefan said slowly.
"Your upset about something." Stefan Stated
Wow Stefan i thought as i rolled my eyes.
"It's Bonnie she... you know what never mind you're here!" She said smiling
as if he wasn't going to come oh wait i convinced him to come.
"I'm here" he said smiling
"Stefan May i wonder?" I asked.
"Yeah sure just don't go to far okay" he said.
I nodded.
I walked over to get a drink and i started to walk around as I sipped on my drink and i ran into a boy and spilled the drink all over me.
"I'm so sorry" the boy said.
"It's fine" i said looking up at the clearly distracted boy.
I remembered him i had classes with him
him and i were in the same grade.
"Jeremy" he said sticking his hand out.
"Elizabeth but everyone calls me Liz" i said shaking his hand.
He was cute but in love with another i could tell.
"I'll see you around" he said with a smile as he walked away.
I followed Jeremy into the woods but stayed close enough behind where nobody would know. Sure enough he was distracted by a girl and she had a boyfriend or something.
"Hey she said stop" Jeremy said.
"You know Gilbert you are really trying my nerves" the boy said.
"Leave him alone Tyler" the girl said.
Tyler walked away. And the girl and Jeremy talked and then she walked off alone in the woods and he stood in the woods alone.
I stood there and watched Jeremy head back to the party. And as i stood there i heard a girl scream with my vampire hearing and i started running back to the party to find Stefan.
"Hi Elena wheres Stefan" i asked as the cute blonde boy walked up.
"I'm not too sure" she said looking around.
"Hi looking for someone?" He asked.
I looked over and see Stefan come out of the woods.
I ran over to him.
"I was in the woods and i heard a scream. Do you thing someone is out there planning an attack?" I asked.
"Liz this is a party people are drunk. It's normal" he said taking my cup.
"Hey" i said as he took a sip.
"Your 15" he said as he joined Elena.
I watched Elena spot Jeremy and start walking around Stefan
"You don't want to witness this." She said walking towards the woods.
I looked at Stefan with a worried look.
"Jeremy! Jeremy!" She yelled.
I followed her.
"Jeremy where the hell are you going!" She yelled.
"I dont want to hear it" he said as he tripped and fell on a body.
"Yeah? Too bad" Elena said.
Over protective siblings, check.
"Vicky no" he said looking at the body.
"Oh my god it's Vicky" Jeremy said looking at Elena.
"Oh my god" she said as i walked up.
"Animal attack" i whispered to myself
"No" Jeremy said
Vicky gasped for air and Jeremy and Elena yelled for help. Stefan and the blonde boy came running with everyone following them.
"What the hell happened to her!" The blonde boy said
"Everyone back up!" Tyler yelled
"Call 911" the blonde boy yelled.
"She's losing a lot of blood. Something but her" Elena said.
"Animal" i said as i ran to Stefan.
"We need to go" he said grabbing my arm and pushing through the crowd.
We ran home and through the front door.
"What's going on?" Zach asked.
"Someone else was attacked and it wasn't either of us" Stefan said as he ran up stairs and i followed him into his room.
"Stefan the doors open" i said as a crow flew in.
I looked at Stefan.
"You don't think" i asked slowly
We both turned and looked at the opened door.
"Damon" Stefan said bluntly.
"Hello, Brother. Hello, Sister" Damon said with a smirk.
I looked at Stefan then at Damon deciding if i wanted to hug Damon or hit him.
"The crow is a bit much don't you think?" Stefan asked as Damon walked into his room.
"Wait until you see what i can do with the fog" Damon said with a smile.
"When did you get here?" Stefan asked.
"Well i couldnt miss my little brother and little sisters first day could i ?" He said as he hugged me and kissed my head.
"Your hairs different. I like it" he said to Stefan as he let go of me.
"It's been 15 years Damon" Stefan said slowly.
"Thank god i couldn't take another day of the 90s" Damon said trying to make a joke but it was only pissing Stefan off which was Damon's goal.
"That horrible grudg look did not suit you" Damon said laughing.
"Remember Stefan it's important to stay away from fads" Damon said still laughing
"Why are you here?" Stefan yelled.
"I missed my little brother and sister" he said looking at the two of us.
"You hate small towns it's boring. Nothing for you to do" i said slowly.
" i've managed to keep myself busy" Damon said with a smirk.
" do you know you left that girl alive tonight" i said.
"That's very clumsy of you" Stefan said.
" that could be a problem... For you" Damon said
Stefan shook his head.
" why are you here now" Stefan asked.
" I could ask you the same thing" Damon stated.
" however I already know the answer and I bet it could be summed up into one little word...Elena" Damon said.
" she took my breath away... Elena... Dead ringer for Katherine" Damon said
" doesn't work Stefan being around her does it make you feel alive?" Damon asked.
Stefan was getting angry but he was keeping his cool because he didn't want Damon to know he was winning. This is how life has been since the change Damon agitating Stefan because he blames Stefan for Katherine's death.
"She's not Katherine" Stefan said.
"Well lets hope not" Damon said.
"Katherine killed our baby sister" Damon said looking at me.
"Tell me when was the last time you had something stronger than a squirrel" Damon asked Stefan.
" I know what you're doing and it's not going to work Damon" Stefan said.
" does he have you on that diet to" Damon asked me.
" I drink from blood bags" i said slowly.
"Come on stuff and don't you crave it just a little" Damon said pushing Stefan.
"Stop it" Stefan said.
"Let's do it! The three of us" Damon said with a smile.
"Come on I seen a couple girls down there or let's go straight to the source let's get Elena imagine what her blood taste like" Damon said
"Stop it!" Stefan yelled.
"I can" Damon taunted
"I said stop!" Stefan said running after Damon.
Stefan ended up jumping out the window thinking he was tackling Damon but he didn't.
I looked down from the now broken window
" i'll say I was impressed I'll give it a solid six for style" Damon said
" whole face thing was impressive to" Damon said laughing.
" it's all fun and games but wherever you go people die" Stefan said
"That's a given" Damon said
"we are monsters wherever we go people die Stefan that's why we shouldn't came here" i said joining my brothers on the ground.
" not here I will not allow it" Stefan said.
"I take that as an invitation" Damon said
" Damon please" Stefan said
"After all these years can't we just give it a rest" Stefan asked.
"I promised you an eternity of misery. I'm just keeping my word" Damon said.
I rolled my eyes.
"Just stay away from Elena" Stefan said.
" where is your ring?" Damon asked Stefan "Suns going up in a couple of hours and then poof ashes ashes"
"Damon Salvatore! Give him back his ring!" I yelled.
"Relax you two. It's right here" Damon said handing him his ring back.
Just as he put it on Damon throw Stefan at the house.
" you should know better than to think that you're stronger than me" Damon said towering over Stefan who laid on the ground.
" Lost that fight when you stop feeding on people" Damon said.
"I wouldn't try it again" Damon warned.
I looked at my two older brothers who were once as tight as they come but now because of Katherine at constant war.
"I could fight you Damon" i said helping Stefan up.
He laughed and then stopped and listened.
"I think we woke Zach up" he laughed again.
"Sorry Zach" i said as Damon left and Stefan
went to his room.
And me well i drank on the couch by the fire.
