The creatures in the woods were angered if people came into their territory without their permission they were dangerous extremely dangerous but that wouldnt keep a curious boy away.

Daniel zachs older brother and only family memeber he had left after their parents passing didnt really like his flaw as much either it was rather embarrassing, if the blue eyed boy was around something he liked his wings would flap and flutter if he had a crush on someone his wings would flap and his cheeks could turn red.
When zach was twelve his dad was shot and killed and then soon after his mother developed a disease that couldnt be cured and passed away so daniel basically raised him from that point on.
The creatures in the woods had more than one flaw but they werent nice flaws they were scary flaws used for self defense, hunting, protecting , or just straight up no good
If you were found in the woods mal it during the day the government would lock you up or kill you and no one was allowed out at night absolutely no one
