It's better to be held than holding on
But it was far too late for the girl behind the screen. She believed that she had to do this alone, she knew people would help if she had asked but she didn't feel she was worth it. She didn't want them to tell her she was good enough because in her eyes she wasn't, and nothing could change that.
She was generic, unimportant, and nothing. She was nothing. There was always someone better than her at everything, her talents were few and far between. She hated what she was, and that was useless, she was useless.
There was no one holding her, and she could barely hold on.
