As the light vanishes into the horizon, the demons will arise and build their empire upon the flesh of the humans and there will be a sea of blood and countless humans will be slain.

"Hey Fawkes. What if I'll go on a date, that'd be awesome."
Mirael said as she was laying on her bed and Fawkes was right beside her combing her long, red hair.

"No. That'd be too risky."
Mirael faced him and begged with puppy eyes.
"Pleaseeee. I really want to go on a date with a hot guy. Please Fawkes."

"No." He sighed and put the comb back at her boudoir.

Mirael pouted as Fawkes made his exit from her room. She had an idea. What if she'll date James on their graduation party?
"I guess that'd be fun." She whispered to herself.

Two days passed and the day of their graduation came. Students wearing toga and hats marched at the stage. Top students from every class gave their speech but most of all... A party will be held in honor of all students from the school.

The night of the party then came and Mirael got more and more excited to date James. She picked out a beautiful dress and Fawkes picked out a corsage to match it.
"Aren't you going to come with me at the graduation party?" She asked him as he was attaching the corsage at her wrist.
"No. I have something important to do."
Mirael pouted and smiled at him instead of getting angry.
"You always have important things to do. Am I not that important enough? Hah. When someday you'll lose me, you will never find any other like me. haha." She jokingly said and hopped on her heels spinning her dress.
Fawkes sent her to the party but he never stepped out of the car and just watched her wave goodbye from far away. On his way home, he saw James inside a car heading towards the party.
James gave him a look which shook his body and gave him a deathly chill.
James was heading for the party... And Fawkes realized that the chill that he felt on his spine wasn't about him.
"Oh God."
He made a U turn going to the party and got off the car and opened the trunk. He wore a suit and took a crossbow. Inside the trunk was also a coffin, large enough to fit someone inside. Fawkes carried it on his back along with the crossbow on his left hand.
He ran up to the hallway going to the room where the party was held but...
There was no one out there but blood and bodies of dead students scattered around the place. There are ones that are alive and luckily he saw Mirael beside a corner bleeding to death but still alive.
"I told you before to just... Stay away from that guy." Fawkes opened the coffin and took a healing patch and an elixir of healing from it.
"I'm sorry I was naive Fawkes. I didn't know James was a... demon..."
He continued to heal her wounds but a booming voice resounded the whole room.

"Well... Well... Well... Look who's here to come and party, a demon hunter...." James emerged from the darkness floating in the air with his eerie, devious form.
The dead corpses raised up and faced Fawkes and Mirael.

"You did this to Mirael... And now... You'll pay for this."

He quickly loaded his crossbow and shoot down the corpses which then turned into ashes. One by one he shot them down and James flew right up to him and knocked him down.

"You think you're such a hero when you reek of demon blood yourself!" James threw him across the tables and chairs but he managed to got up.

Mirael looked at Fawkes. She didn't know what James were saying.

"Oh don't you know Mirael? Hahahahahaha!!! Your so-called guardian? He's not completely human! Show her Fawkes! Show her you're not really human!"

Fawkes turned his sight to Mirael and said... "Do you trust me Mira?"

Mirael nodded. She can't move a limb although her wounds were healing rapidly.

Fawkes removed the glove from his left hand and a demon's hand revealed and gleamed with a bluish color.

"You see Fawkes, we're the same. Join me and together... We're unstoppable..."
Fawkes looked at his left hand but his sight was then diverted to Mirael. He remembered every bit of sorrow that she had endured in her life eversince when they were kids. She promised him that she would always looked out for him every single day in their lives.

Fawkes looked at James and said...
"Sorry but the deal is off."
He opened his demonic hand and a humongous bluish demonic hand also appeared below James.
"N-NO!"
Fawkes closed his hand and James was enclosed inside the large demonic hand and disappeared downward the ground.
Fawkes put on his glove on his left hand once again and carried the coffin and Mirael back to the car.

"You didn't tell me that you had that..." Mirael said as her wounds were now doing great.

"I kept it a secret since we were kids. I didn't tell you anything because you might get afraid and get away from me. I'm so-"
She stopped him and smiled.

"Demon or not, you saved my life from imminent danger. You were great."

He smiled back at her and he stepped off the car one last time.

"Do you know that I can do things other than that?"
She was thrilled hearing that knowing that Fawkes was a half demon and he's fighting demons in return.

Fawkes levitated high up in the air and a blue crystal showed itself in front of them.
After the blue crystal disappeared, Fawkes walked right up to Mirael and went inside the room.
The party was commencing without any delay. James wasn't there and students were swarming the whole place like bugs.
"How did you do that?" Mirael said.
"A little gift from the demon that I killed once..."

Mirael couldn't believe it and started asking random persons in the party...
"Did you know James? James Lucien?"

The student just shrugged and said. "What James Lucien? Don't know him."

She asked one after another but none of them seems to know him.

"I'll explain when we get home."

When the two finally got home from the party, Fawkes walked right up to Mirael's room and talked about her about the things she didn't knew and was kept a secret from her eversince she was a child.

"Mira. Your father was a demon and your mother was a human. They lived next doors with us and kept their relationship strong even though they are of opposite kind. When other demons discovered this, your family had been hunted. Your mother wasn't killed by a heart attack, she was killed by a demon."

As Mirael heard this, she grew a bit tensed and gripped her fist. She caught a glimpse of fire on it and began panicking.

"Wha- what's that?"
She said in a panicking tone.

"Your powers are awakening Mira. As I told you before, you need not to worry. If you're here for me, I am here for you."

Fawkes removed his glove and placed his left hand over Mirael's flaming fist. The fire had been extinguished.
