Dear Hyunie,

How are you feeling today? It's been a while since I've written to you. This year in high school will be challenging. I need to maintain a high grade and go into the best colleges. You know how Eomma is.

I also have to apologize that I haven't written anything regarding them. I will promise you I'll find someone before I graduate. Remember at the lake, that one girl? It's been a long time, but we've been in touch.

Some advice for you, little bro, is to take it easy. Life is too short, so whatever you want. I wish you were here with me, so I could've showed you everything we did.

I almost forgot! A school was destroyed by a storm during summer, and some of the students are transferring to this school, so new people, new chances!

It's getting late, and I need to go to sleep. I will send this tomorrow morning and hopefully, you'll get it the next day. I love you little bro

August 19, 01:21 AM, The River

I walked along the bank of the river in the starry night. Then I approached the bridge and leaned on the railing. My thoughts were rampant at that time.

Destiny is the predetermined course of events. It may be conceived as a predetermined future, whether in general or of an individual. Which means, our futures are set to a certain outcome no matter what.

Fate is a beautiful and ruthless thing. It took away a person from me, and it's happening again. I was forced to push her away, seeming to do it without regret. Then I wondered, was it that my decisions were pre-planned along with the outcome?

Everything we went through, at first it was happy, but it turned into a misery. After all of what happened, I still wonder why the world functions as it does.

'Destiny' and 'Fate' are words that often sneak their way into my vocabulary. There was a reason why everything happened. It wasn't a coincidence all of our problems came back up with we met them.

Our friendship collapsed when we came to terms with everything striking back. A long time ago, we made a pack to never break our friendship, betray each other, and take advantage of each other.

In our last year in high school, it was all broken.

We all bond from our pain. We all understood what it meant to suffer.

Four names, four girls, four stories, and eight problems.

Kim Jisoo, the visual and the one begging to be saved. Jennie Kim, the player who fell in love. Park Chaeyoung, the cheerful and talented girl hiding a deep secret. Lalisa Manoban, the fierce one that got away.

One tear fell down my cheek as I walked away from the railing and off the bridge.
