I wake up feeling wide awake, feeling refreshed and oddly satisfied. No, Gufo and I didn't have sex, we talked until ten and are well before he told me to go home and sleep; of course he dropped me off, pecked my cheek and gave me a hug before bidding me goodbye. I can't help but feel happier. I groan and push myself off of the mattress before going around my morning, leaving the house and walking to college. My happy bubble is popped however when Rita skips over, linking her arm with mine.
I sigh, "Rita."
"Chloe," she beams. "Are you feeling better? How's your stomach ache? Did it go away yesterday?"
"Yes."
"I saw you running out of the canteen though, looked like you were going to puke. I would have followed you out but Morgan was already there," she rambles, her voice annoyingly chirpy. "Party tonight?"
"It's a Wednesday," I grumble.
"So? You can drink, party, fuck a cute guy..." she wiggles her brows. "I heard Nathanial is interested. He is so hot I wish he was interested in me."
"Partying isn't my scene Rita," I respond, my voice tight.
She pouts, "Oh come on! I want to see drunk you! Are you a happy drunk or an angry drunk?"
"You won't be finding out," I try not to bite, whilst trying to refrain from being a complete bitch. 'Try' being the main word.
She huffs dramatically, "You're so lame, I honestly thought you'd have more excitement in your life. Y'know, bad boys, drinking, drugs... gangs."
Oh you have no idea. "Nope."
She frowns, "Huh. You're so boring, like, why can't you just be more exciting? What am I supposed to tell my friends now? Oh, yeah, that Chloe who nobody knows about, she's completely average. Nothing special about her."
I grimace, "So sorry for disappointing you for your gossip session later Rita. Since you're not interested in being friends and neither am I, can you do us both a favour and just piss off."
She stutters in surprise, eyes widening in shock, "Sorry Chloe, I didn't mean it like—"
"Just fuck off!" I exclaim, gaining attention around the campus. "I've got enough bullshit I'm dealing with to have to put up with your pettiness." I storm off, leaving her behind; who the fuck does she think she is? Practically a stranger, she thinks she can use me as entertainment with her friends? Hell no. The urge to scream and kick something flickers over my mind as I stomp down the hall, but I bump into none other than a blonde wall: Nathanial.
"Oh, Hey," he says in surprise, holding my shoulders to stop me from bouncing off. "You good? You look a bit... red."
I huff, "I'm great thanks. Just on my way to class."
"You look a bit angry."
"You think?" I snap before sighing in regret. "Sorry, I'm not in a good mood today."
He shrugs, "No problem, it's probably hormones or something."
"Yeah," I nod. "That sounds about right."
"Want me to escort you to class so you don't rip someone's head off?" He questions lightly.
I smile and nod, "Yeah, that'd be nice actually." We continue our way to my chemistry.
"So how was the date last night?"
I smile, "Really nice. Gufo wants to pursue a relationship with me and help raise the child, he's actually really nice and has a sweet personality."
"Do you want to pursue a relationship?"
I sigh again, "I don't know. Like, I know I have feelings for him, I just can't seem to fully commit to him."
"What's holding you back?"
"His past," I mumble sheepishly. "Let's just say he's had a very flavoursome love life."
"Flavoursome?" Nathanial laughs. "So he's a player, he likes to have sex with different women- or men?"
"I don't know if he's bisexual," I shrug.
"But has he had sex recently? Zac told me he hasn't," he presses, standing outside of my classroom with a knowing look.
"N-not that I know of," I stutter.
"See, he's ready to change for you. Perhaps you're it for him, without him realising it. Specifically, without you realising it."
"Dang Nathanial, when did you become an intellect?" I laugh, smacking his arm lightly.
"Hey! When it comes to women, I know best," he winks and I scoff but nod in agreement. I guess players learn a thing or two.
"Can I ask you something?"
"You already did, but shoot," he teases, eyes twinkling.
"If, you got a girl," I indicate my stomach. "Would you want to stick around? As a father, maybe even a spouse?"
"Every player's different, Chloe. Perhaps he's been different all along and felt something from the start; he took you on a date six weeks ago?"
"Yeah."
"Did he ever do that for any other gal?"
"I don't think so..."
"You've got your answer," he clarifies, before nudging me through the doorway. "See you Stewart!"
I roll my eyes and walk to my seat, a small smile splaying on my lips. Putting down my bag, I collect my equipment before jotting down the date and title, biting my lip in thought. I've been saving up to buy a new phone, I have been for a couple of months now and I know it's time to invest in one.
Someone knocks into my desk, knocking over my pens onto the floor and causing my pen to run across the page. I snap my eyes up to meet Rita's cold ones, "Whoops."
"I knew you had brain problems Rita, hadn't realised it got this bad," I say loudly, my tone laced in venom as I get up to collect my equipment. The class chuckles.
"Might want to lay off the sugar Chloe, you almost look pregnant."
My head snaps to her and we meet gazes, she winks before spinning and sitting down with her friends, laughing at something one of them said. The nerve. The fucking nerve of this brunette bitch makes me want to fucking—
"Morning class!" Rushes Liversage as she drops her coffee on the desk. "Just needed a bit of a caffeine boost 'cause this is going to be a complicated session!"
For fuck's sake.
