"Sorry I'm late. The shop was busy." I said to my friend Natalia, who was already sipping a hot coffee.

"It's ok. I just got here myself." She replied while staring at the door.

She always took a seat facing the door to keep 'updated' with whoever comes in and exits. She claims that it is to look for prospective customers. You see, she is an interior designer and always in need of a new 'canvas' for her creations.

"So, I want to hear all about it. Start spilling. Now!"

"There isn't much to tell. He was very boring. Kept nibbling on his sunglasses. And by the way, who wears sunglasses, at eight o'clock at night, in a restaurant? Stop laughing, it's not that funny."

Natalia was laughing so hard that eventually I started laughing also. I got up to order a fruit smoothie. I decided to wait for it before taking my seat. My phone pinged, and I fought the urge to check it.

"Thanks Jacob. I will see you this weekend."

Jacob just smiled and winked in response.

Jacob and I became friends after I became a regular and the only thing I ever ordered was a smoothie. He was very shy and I often teased him to see those dimples appear. He promised to come help me this weekend at my store. He helps me with restocking and inventory every month end.

"You really should try something other than that disgusting thing you drink every day."

I sighed and ignored her. I glanced around the cafe, trying to think of something interesting to talk about.

"Ooh la la. Check out that fine piece of man candy."

I rolled my eyes at her but still turned around to look. After all, it's man candy. I'm sure that my eyes became like saucers when I saw the Adonis standing by the door, glancing around. He had the sexiest golden eyes I've ever seen. God definitely wasn't feeling lazy when he created this perfect creature. I became aware that I was staring, when his eyes made contact with mine. I saw him smile before I whipped my head back. I'm sure that I nearly got whip lash.

Natalia was smirking at me. "You might want to close your mouth there." she teased. "I was just beginning to wonder if you were the new fly trap being used here."

I once again ignored her and watched the object of my admiration walk past and started talking to Jacob.

"Oh my God. You like him!"

"Oh please, stop. You think that I like every guy. That's why you set me up on that date with Mr. Sunglasses' nibbler."

We chatted some more. But my eyes kept straying towards him. My eyes felt like it was Christmas morning. They kept devouring him. He had black hair, cut short. A dimple in his chin. Broad shoulders. I wondered what he looked like without that T-shirt on. Oh my God . I really need to stop fantasizing about the stranger.

The stranger. I had this sudden urge to know his name. I simply needed it.

"... and she wanted pink walls with red curtains. Can you belie-"

"I need to know his name." I interrupted her. "But how?" I knew that I sounded like my five year old niece, but I was desperate. What if he walked out of the shop?

"You've got it bad, girl. It's like your brain stopped functioning. Just give him your card."

"Card?" I asked. I'm pretty sure that I'm sounding stupid by now.

"Your credit card." Natalia replied sarcastically. "What else dumb dumb? Your business card. Go. Go."

I felt like a weight was lifted from me, as I hurriedly dived into my purse. It was a golden Gucci purse. Well of course not a real one. I can't afford a real one. But one of these days I will.
