We may not be perfect
We may not have a lot
What we get is neglect
And a negative thought
If I had a mirror
I would be looking
And telling myself "It will be ok"
Even though I would be lying
We may not have clean water and things to eat
We may be disabled, sick and left on the street
But look into our eyes and you will see
That we are human too
We have no home, nowhere to live
We are hardly given more than a glance
We only have love to give
So please give us a chance
In winter we can't keep warm
We are cold and shivering
It's even worse when there's a storm
Because then we are also crying
We may not have clean water and things to eat
We may be disabled, sick and left on the street
But look into our eyes and you will see
That we are human too
