The Star She Wished UponThere was a girl who seemed to be in pain everyday.
Her life is so dark.
It's because, she don't want to open her eyes anymore. Cause everytime she does, even those smallest thing she'd see, will hurt her. She's tired of being hurt, by everyone, and everything. She's tired.
She's gullible, pathetic, dumb, weak, and sensitive. A loser.
One night, she heard a lonely mourn. It was from a very lonely voice. The girl felt how it feels even just by hearing the voice.
She thought of opening her eyes. But upon remembering her fears, she didn't. She ignored it.
For so many days, that voice seems to be restless. It, still, is calling for someone to come and push its loneliness away.
The girl, grew tired of hearing those lonely calls. So she opened her eyes, setting her fears aside. And when she did, she was surprised.
It was a star. A star calling for help.
The girl looked upon the whole sky and she said, "How can this star live so lonely in that wide dark sky? Without other stars, or even the moon?"
The star heard it and smiled. It replied. "It was a life where you'll never feel alive."
From then on, the two started to talk. They became friends. The star never felt lonely again. And the girl never closed her eyes again. She threw her fears away, thinking that the star might be the one she have been waiting for.
The one who'll never hurt her. The one who'll take the pain away.
Then after some time, the star suddenly asked the girl.
"If I will grant a wish for you, what is it?"
The girl bit her lips. She looked down and didn't answer. So the star repeated the question.
"If I will grant a wish for you, what will it be?"
The star was taken aback when the girl looked up with tears in her eyes. He was about to ask if she was okay, when she answered.
"I will wish for the pain to be swept away. To be erased. To fade."
The star smiled. A sad smile, it was.
"Wish granted."
The two became oblivious about time. They treasured every moment they are together.
The girl will always wait for the sun to fall and the star to appear. And when it does, she'll tell stories about her life in the world. And the star will be willingly listening.
A night before her birthday, the girl cried. The sun went down and darkness swallowed the world, but her star never shone out. It disappeared.
Then the next day, she happen to bump into a lady. It asked her what her problem might be. The lady listened very well and told her something.
The girl ran her way home, crying. The pain that was once swept away, worsen. She feels heavier than before.
The looked out of the window and cried hard.
"The stars are very far away. That their light needs to travel for a hundred years before we see them. Funny, we can only see them once they're gone."
And so, the girl waited every night feeling heavier and heavier. She waited to prove the lady wrong. Because she thought that maybe, the star will come out once she wait.
She lived her life and reached her dreams, but the thing she'd been waiting for, never came.
The star never shone out again. It never came back.
THE END.
