When I first saw her

From Victor's POV;

I absolutely hate changes.

But here's my fate, things were going perfectly normal until my mom decided to put me in another school.

I was very nervous. New people and a new environment, which means new nuisance. Yeah well, I'm known for all the trouble I've caused to my teachers as well as my classmates. Hence, it was the only reason I was looking forward to this new journey, which would last only one year. So it would either be a year of utter regret or a year of the most beautiful memories. Either ways, it would last just one year. Just one.

I stand in front of the school gate as the guard rushes over to open it for me. He greets me with a smile and signals me to the lobby. I walk with a slow pace, anxious, looking around. My eyes, in search of something, I just didn't know what.

I head into the lobby and the receptionist smiles. She asks me my name and whether I was a new admission. I nod and she signals me to the principal's cabin. The principal is a tall, reputed gentleman. He is dressed formally and sits on his desk reading the newspaper as I enter.

"New admission?"

"Yes, sir. Victor Cruz."

"Victor, biology or math?"

"Bio."

"Would you like to join the CT batch? I'm sure you'll cope well."

"No, sir. I'm fine with the regular batch."

Even though the CT batch does have its perks, I'm rather fond of actually "enjoying" my days here rather than studying 24x7. Besides, I do not look forward to school on Saturdays.

"Follow me."

The principal leaves his desk and heads out of the cabin. I walk briskly behind him. We walk up the stairs and stop on the third floor. He enters a classroom to the left. I follow.

The class is pretty big compared to my old school. There are atleast 50 two seater desks inside. The walls are pale and dirty with doodles drawn all around. There is a platform at the front on which the lecturer stands as he teaches on the blackboard.

"Students, this is your new classmate Victor Cruz. Befriend him and I hope you all make a great team!"

He smiles and leaves the class. The lecturer asks me to take a seat anywhere I wish to. I find myself a seat and the rest of the lecture just swirls by.

Bell rings for lunch and all my classmates start approaching me and introducing themselves. They all look very nice and even offer to show me around. A few boys take me downstairs and start telling me about the school and the "talks". I listen to them silently as they point out random kids, their names, and a mini prologue about them. I lazily look around and then something, or shall I saw someone catches my eye.

She's slim, tall and has a perfect skin tone. But what attracts me the most turns out to be her hair. She has short yet gorgeous black hair that has been dyed red at the ends. She has tied them up in a half pony tail, making them look even more attractive. She's with a few other girls, none of which I pay attention to.

"Who's she?"

"That's Scarlet. And everyone's got their eyes on her." Stephen replies as he checks her out head to toe.

I continue watching her as she walks straight across the field towards the cafeteria. She stands out from all the other girls that were around her. She returns a few minutes later with an ice cream, cola flavored. She takes little bites and jokes around with her group of friends. A while later, she pauses. She smiles and waves towards a certain direction. I turn and find her signalling a taller, lean boy. He has a wide grin on his face as he waves back at her. He then walks, followed by a group of muscular rowdy looking boys, and sits on a bench. The boys surround him and make him seem like the center of attraction. I immediately feel a sense of dislike towards this boy. My intuitions tell me that he would soon feel the same.
