His golden locks flew into his face as a strong gust of wind hit him and his mother.
"Maman!" He toddled after her. He looked down at her big belly and then back up, "Are you okay? Is Tsu okay?"
His mother, Sawada Nana, was currently pregnant with his soon to be younger brother. "Yes, Mama is okay, so is Tsu-kun." She had always wondered why her son had pronounced 'mama' as maman, but she had never asked her boy. "Is Ie-kun okay?"
He nodded excitedly, "I am!"
She smiled, amused, "I'm glad."
He took her hand that she had held out and they walked through the neighborhood back to their home from the market.
The two spent the night with a homemade dinner, read a book about dragons and a shiny knight, and she tucked her little boy in before going to bed in her room.
What she didn't know was that her boy had something very special happen to him that night.
A few weeks later, it happened.
Sawada Nana was giving birth to a healthy boy. Her husband had come for the birth at the very least.
"Ieyasu, come here," Iemitsu motioned for him to come to him and his mom. He cautiously walked up and his dad had taken something from his mom.
Gently, Iemitsu showed Ieyasu what he was carrying.
Ieyasu peered into the baby's cute eyes and had a sudden realization.
'Sawada Tsunayoshi... I must protect my little brother at all cost because he is the most adorable descendant ever.' Ieyasu's eyes sparkled.
When it was finally time to take Tsunayoshi home, or Tuna in the case of Iemitsu and Ieyasu, it was time to set the plan Ieyasu had created.
It was the 'Tuna is going to live the most normal and happy life and no one is going to stop me from helping him' plan. Just in case.
Time had somehow flew by and before he knew it, he was in high school and Tsuna was in middle school.
He sat in class, laying on an arm and sighed loudly. At this point of time, everyone had already gotten used to the antics of Ieyasu and the fact that he's a major bro-con. He was currently running out of energy without Tsuna around. That and it still wasn't lunch yet, so he was pretty hungry.
His senses tingled as he finally got to eat his lunch and he turned around. He looked around for a bit before settling on just fulfilling his stomach's need. He knew someone had been watching him, but he couldn't quite tell who exactly. His senses has been severely dulled over the time he has lived as a civilian, so there wasn't much surprise. He still, however, relied on his intuition a little bit to be able to sense certain things.
When he had returned home, he immediately hugged Tsuna when he saw him. Namimori Middle was closer to the house than the high school even though they got out slightly earlier and so, Tsuna always got home before him.
"Welcome back, Ie-nii..." Tsuna gasped out as he begged mercy on his brother's soul crushing hug with light hits on the arm.
He pulled back with an apologetic look, "Sorry, you're just too cute, Tuna-chan."
"I'm not cute," he huffed out before storming off into his room.
"Maman, I'm home," Ieyasu looked into the kitchen and smiled at his mom before heading into his own bedroom. He placed his bag down and laid on his bed, staring at his ceiling.
It has been around ten years since he has remembered everything. His adorable descendant, aka his younger brother, was in great shape towards the path of a normal civilian. He was definitely going to keep away Vongola, the mafia, Vendice, and anyone who stands in between Tsuna and that life.
And then that baby came along and destroyed everything.
Ieyasu had a piece of bread in his mouth that morning, which promptly fell out when his mother had let the news of a tutor coming. Alarm bells had rung out and he turned to see horror awaiting right in front of him.
"Noooo! You can't corrupt my baby brother!!" Ieyasu screeched out before running past the baby with the yellow pacifier right into Tsuna's room where he caused his brother to shriek as he tackled him.
Ieyasu hugged the very confused Tsuna, refusing to let go as he heard the baby make his way upstairs.
The baby had quietly stood at the doorway when Ieyasu told him to back off. "No! No! I don't wanna go back either! Make someone else do it!" Ieyasu blinked when a bullet had barely hit his cheek.
"I am Reborn, your home tutor."
Ieyasu coughed and balanced himself, settling the still very confused and frightened Tsuna down before getting up, "Sawada Ieyasu." He gave a bright smile as he decided to just guide the baby out of the room so Tsuna couldn't find out from their conversation. He spoke once Tsuna was out of hearing range, "Arcobaleno, my precious little brother will have nothing to do with Vongola, correct?"
Reborn narrowed his eyes, "You're a civilian." The unspoken words were clearly taken in as he saw the teen scratch his head and frown slightly.
"Reborn-san... was it? I recognize the pacifier of the Sun Arcobaleno. If you want to know why I know of you and Vongola, please follow me." Ieyasu walked into his own room and closed the door once Reborn entered.
He opened his closet, moved his clothes, and pulled out a hidden compartment from the wall. It revealed numerous papers, pictures, notes, and a family tree. "Around 400 years ago, a man known as Giotto had formed a vigilante group to protect the city of Florence, as you already may know, that has turned into one of the most powerful mafia families, Vongola." Ieyasu smiled, but it was a sad one. "He moved to Japan after retiring and took on the alias of Sawada Ieyasu. I have forever regretted giving the position to my brother as he has dyed the family with sins unforgivable and it has continued on since. However, I am also at fault as I was the cause of the start. You can probably see how this is going, no?
Ieyasu's eyes glowed orange as a bright flame formed on his head. Reborn remained silent at the spectacle before him.
"There is no coincidence that I uncannily look like Giotto. Tsunayoshi as well, my blood has run strong through his and thus, brought on similar features. Although, I am a bit different as I have memories of back then." Ieyasu glanced at Reborn before bringing something out. It was a vial of blood. "This is probably what had began my memory. Vongola is unaware of this vial, it is my blood that I had hidden away before I passed. When I was young, I had found it and tasted some of it with no knowledge whatsoever to what it was, with just a feeling that I had to. Since then, I have regained my memories and I believe it is due to the promise I have made as well as the Vongola Ring."
Reborn tilted his fedora down, "Would you prefer if I call you Giotto then?"
Ieyasu shook his head, "I am now just Ieyasu. Tsuna isn't aware of Vongola or about myself," he chuckled lightly, "He is such an adorable descendant. Unlike Iemitsu... I don't know how my blood runs in him." He sighed, shaking his head in disappointment.
The flame dispersed and Ieyasu stood up, "I, however, am going to have to refuse the position and same goes for my little brother. I will protect the life we live until the day I die." Then his happiness blossomed, "And I can't have my cute little great great great grandson go into the bloody shit hole that is Vongola."
He smiled with the promise for a peaceful normal life for him and his Guardians when they were reborn and he was going to protect that promise that they had wanted.
The Arcobaleno was going to just have to suck it up.
And so will Vongola.
