The Jokers

Author's note; in this story (which is purely fiction and an idea I've been thinking about for a while now) Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger are father and son and very well aware of who the main characters boyfriend really is... Jared Leto (So yea... the Joker)
bare with me and I hope you like it.
Also all three of their back stories are my own creation with nods to their actual back stories.

"Grace, darling, it's time to get up, Jared's coming over to pick you up in 30 minutes so he can drive you guys and Heath to school" my father Jack gently shook my arm as he woke me up. I blinked and groaned as light sliced across my face. "Yes dad I'll get up just please close the blinds!" He chuckled and went to close them and he walked to the door. "Oh and by the way Gracie, if you try to fall back asleep, I'll let Heath poor ice cold water on you." He laughed as he saw me jump out of bed. "Good you're up! Breakfast is already on the table." I groaned as I stretched and stood up to get ready for the day.

Once I was dressed I walked downstairs and snuck up behind my brother to kiss his cheek. I gently rested one hand on his shoulder and he did something I was not expecting. He quickly grabbed my wrist and bent it until I felt it start to pop and I whimpered in pain.

"HEATH!" My dads voice boomed and it seemed to snap Heath out of whatever transe he was in. "Oh jesus! Grace I'm so sorry I guess all the stress of the kids bullying me and tormenting me in school got to my mind. I really didn't mean to hurt you. Jo... Jared would be royally pissed if I hurt you. I'm sorry darling." He quickly wrapped his arms around me and hugged me tightly. Out of the corner of my eye I saw my father glare at Heath.

"Dad why'd you glare at Heathy? He didn't mean it! You can't blame him cuz the bullies are obviously getting to him which you really should stop! I'm so fed up with this the next time I see one of them harassing you I'm gonna step in."

They both visibly tensed when I finished talking, that's when we heard a car horn. I went over to my father and kissed his cheek. "See you later dad." With that I ran out the door with Heath on my tail. Jared was waiting outside in his purple sports car and I jumped in the passenger seat and Heath in the back. "Morning baby girl." He said happily. "Hi babe." I leaned over the console and kissed him. "Damn love birds lets go! We're gonna be late for school." Heath groaned from the backseat. I pulled away blushing and turned to look at him. "Oh shut up, you're just jealous cuz we're in a happy, loving relationship with no secrets."

Something was really going on cuz Heath looked away and Jared cleared his throat. "What the hell is going on! I want to know why you guys are acting do weird!" I looked back at Heath who was too "busy" looking out the window. "Jared!" I whined then he shocked me by pulling over and glaring at me. "Nothing is wrong even if there was its not like we would tell you anyways. Shut up and stop asking stupid questions. Better yet why don't you shut up the rest of the way to school!" He growled, his icy blue eyes were bright with rage. I looked forward shocked and nodded. "J dude, that was cold..." I shook my head and looked at Heath in thanks, then he reached forward and grabbed my shoulder softly.

After what seemed like an eternity we got to school and I jumped out of the car and stormed into school. I did not want to spend another second near those two because the second I was out of the car Heath was yelling at Jared. I threw my stuff in my locket and grabbed my books and went into class.

I was in honors English so neither of them were with me thank god. I wasn't in the mood for college today so as soon as English was over I left. However once I passed a dark alley way that was way off campus I heard two familiar voices but I couldn't quite see them. It was only when I saw the third figure that I realized what I was looking at. My father, brother and boyfriend were standing over the bloodied bodies of three students from my school.

"Have you two thought about what you're gonna tell Grace when she finds out students from her college are dead!?" My dad asked. "No dad we haven't but, lover boy here really screwed up this morning." My dad laughed. "You're one to talk Heath you nearly blew our cover this morning by almost calling him Joker do you... what was that!" My dad spun around and I realized the sound he heard was my gasp. "Whoever is there hiding better get out and show yourself or you're as good as dead." My Jared's voice growled. I knew he wasn't kidding so I stepped out and tears were streaming down my cheeks. "Grace!" All three of them yelled. That's when I turned around and ran away from them and I could hear their footsteps following me which terrified me. I ran into the nearest metro station and jumped the bar and hopped onto the nearest subway car. I could see the three of them angrily glaring at the car. My phone started ringing and I knew that it was one of them so I shut my phone off. What those morons didn't know was in case of emergencies I kept 1000 dollars in my bag. I got off after 3 stops and went to the nearest hotel. That's when I turned my phone back on and sent my dad a message.

"I dont know why you all felt the need to lie to me. You're all asses. I need some time away from you and Heath and Jared or should I say the three Jokers. I dont know when I'm coming home."

I took a deep breath and flopped down on the bed and groaned when I heard someone knock on the door. I stood up and slumped towards it and sure enough it was the three of them looking "normal"

"Grace, baby let us in. Please?" My dad tried. I stayed silent. "Gracie, we really need to talk to you." Heath admitted with once again no response from me. That's when I heard a faint thud on the door, the sound a head would make when someone puts their head on it. "Baby girl I know we lied about who we are but can you please open the door so we can explain ourselves? Please? You don't even need to stand near us." I signed and unlocked the door and ran to the other side of the bed before yelling that it was open. Once the three of them were in the room I held my hand out. "No dont you come any closer. Stop bull shitting me you're all wearing makeup aren't you I want to see how you look normally." The three of them looked at each other and took out a handkerchief and watched as I saw the real them.

"Holy crow." I gasped and my knees caved out from under me and I fell to the floor. I saw Jared move to help me. "Dont do it! Stay over there." He froze and looked hurt. "Dad I suspect you know the most of all of them so I wanna hear it from you." I stayed on the floor.

"Well I was the first one of us because I worked at ACE chemicals. Some dumbass in a bat costume thought I had stolen something so he decided it would be a good idea to shoot his gun to the left of me. The damn bullet ricocheted off one of the pipes and went through my face through both cheeks and I fell into the bubbling vat of acid below us. He left me for dead. I met your mother and we had Heath. A few years later we had you. I went psychotic on your mother and your brother and I I scarred his face. We told everyone that he when he came to work with me. And finally, Jared. Heath saw him watching you with the same doe filled eyes you were looking at him with. So once Heath convinced you to talk to him and you guys were together we took Jared to ACE and he willingly jumped in. He told us he'd do anything to protect you. And that pretty much leads us to now. I'm the secret head of our little crime organization while Heath and Jared are the heads we show the public. The only reason I was there today was those guys were talking about jumping you so the two of them decided we would handle them. We never meant for you to find out like this. I'm sorry darling."

I nodded shakily. "H Heathy c'mere." I whispered. Even though he'd lied to me I always felt comfortable in his arms. "Heathy, y you guys won't ever hurt me right?" He pulled me away from him slightly and gripped my chin and made me look up at him. Suddenly it didn't feel like I was in the arms of my brother anymore but in the arms of one of the most dangerous killers in Gotham. "Now listen here little girl. You are the most important thing in Gotham and the three of us will always protect you." He then pressed his rosy lips to my forehead and whispered. "Go apologise to Jared. He's really mad at himself." I nodded and squeezed him then walked to my dad and hugged him tightly. Then I looked at Jared and smiled shyly and stepped out of my father's grasp and started towards J. "Hi." I whispered when he was in front of me. "Hey." He whispered and grabbed my hand shyly. "I'm sorry." We both whispered at the same time then laughed. I hid my face in his chest and he kissed the top of my head. "I love you Grace Napier."
"I love you too Joker."

Well we may not be the most normal people in the world but I know as long as I'm with my dad, brother and boyfriend everything would be alright and we'd be safe and happy together.
