Chapter 1: Bittersweet Memories

June had killed the deer...he never liked hurting animals, in fact he thought that all animals were unique in their own way, for example the wolf showed how they were cunning to gain what they wanted, while the deer..well the now deceased deer was elegant and adventurous yet cautious of their surroundings. June set up a fireplace for himself to keep himself warm in the cold winter night.He thought to himself about rune, The only person who gave the young orphan a chance,

june was only 4 when his mother left him at the yagami orphanage, the food was horrible, the children were mean the caretakers didn't even bother to check on them. He thought she would return one day, to take him out of the terrible place. And so he waited...and waited....waited...day after day...week after week...as he slowly lost hope....he felt abandoned unwanted...unloved.  Until one christmas night, all the locals in town would go to the orphanage and randomly deliver the children presents like a secret santa. June had received a very small present, sure the others got bigger and better toys than he did but june got a small green pearl necklace. as june walked around trying to discover who gave him the present, an old grey bearded man was just sitting alone admiring the children's happiness. June looked at the man in awe, like he would have a lot of stories to tell due to his age. The man looked at him with dark blue eyes as he waves to him " ah...so i see you got my present huh lad.." the young boy looked down in nervousness. "i-...its a nice necklace...who are you" june asked

my name..is Rune..the swordmaster.....and you are?"

j-..June Arimasu..."

"Sit with me june...how are you liking this place...is it comfortable for you?"

June thought for a moment "well..no..the food is horrible, the people are so mean and the caretakers don't do sh!-....sorry..."

No no it's alright...theses people aren't really the caring type.." rune looked around, " you seem like a nice kid in fact the only nice one here...why not...join me...let me get you outta this hell-"

YES!...please get me outta here" he replied excitedly. " Alright...gimme...two days...i'll sign the paperwork tonight and i'll get your room ready for you."

Room!...alright!"

As rune grabs the paperwork and leaves he tells him " oh..june...since your living with me i can't just have you lazing about the place..you'll be my apprentice"

Apprentice...in what?"

Swordsmanship.." as he leaves in the quiet night. June gets back into reality as he still rest near the fireplace, he had a small smirk before putting out the flames, he looked at his sword. "Master rune...i'm gonna avenge you...no matter what...your death won't be in vain..." he looks up at the moon before slowly drifting off to sleep.
