The drone of the engine pushed away all the thoughts from Kate's head. She stared somberely at the little kid enjoying a lollipop. The train squealed to a stop. Kate got up, brushed her skirt and made her way to the doors of the train. As soon as the doors opened, it was blocked by a tall frame of a black suited person. Annoyed, Kate pushed past him roughly, and continued walking.
" Miss Chase?" The question arose from the tall man. Kate turned around. "Miss Chase?" He asked again, addressing the passengers still sitting inside the carriage. " I'm supposed to escorts you. Please, where is-" Kate cleared her throat. "I'm Here," she said, loud and crisp. He turned around and the hint of a smile that played on his face slipped away. He pulled out his hand and said, "Pleasure to meet you. Mr. Swenson is eagerly waiting for you." His voice was monotonous. Kate shook his hand, which was rough, and followed him to his car.
"I hope you are comfortable" he said, looking at Kate from the rear view mirror. His voice didn't lose any of its seriousness. " Yes, I am" Kate responded. A few miles of silence passed. "I must warn you," he started, " Mr. Swenson is quite....different." Kate raised her brow. He continued, " He finds it extremely important to make an-" he glanced at Kate - " impressive first impression."
Kate rolled her eyes.
