Once upon a times are so cliche,
This is a story about how I lived in a world of hate and found my mate.
I had a step mom who could have been Satan himself,
And two stepsisters who followed her footsteps.
I suspect they hated because i didn't look like them
I had long blonde hair, and theirs was short and thin.
I believe that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree,
Because just like their mother they were quite ugly.
Not exactly sure what my father saw in a woman like that.
Maybe it was the body, she had a tiny waist and her butt was mad fat.
But that's off topic, let me get to the point.
I wasn't allowed to do anything, that meant no friends and no boys.
Yet i still felt worthy to go to this dance
My sisters had been talking about since the year began
I sat in my room and thought what i would wear
When those ugly deviled girls called me to come downstairs
"Girl you can go to the ball if you please,
But mother left a list of chores that should be done before you leave."
They laughed and then they walked away.
I swear i could have ripped those smiles off their face.
There's no way I could finish in time to get dressed and go,
And why am I the only one cleaning in this household?
I ran up the stairs as tears fell from my cheeks.
I knew I should have went through with that murder I had planned last week.
Am I thinking out loud?
Cause I know i heard a laugh.
I turned around to find a fat stubby woman, no words left my mouth.
"I'm your fairy godmother, say thanks in advance."
She walked towards me and motioned for me to stand.
I stood from my bed, and didn't question a thing.
She took out some tape and began to measure me.
When she was done she snapped her fingers three times,
And I was dressed from head to toe; My eyes bulged wide.
"Look at you transformed from rags to riches.
Be home by midnight, because magic can have some glitches.
There's a carriage waiting for you outside.
And wear this mask so you don't have to duck and hide.
When you get home, the house will be clean.
And tonight will be perfect, all thanks to me!"
She rushed me out and told me to go.
I was still in shock from everything going on.
I got to the ball and I looked like a princess.
I saw love at first sight, the prince was glistening.
He asked me to dance, and of coarse I said yes.
Not only was he perfect, I could see my sisters were getting jealous.
We danced for a while, and I lost track of time.
I looked at the clock which read five minutes 'til midnight.
"It was really nice to meet you, but I'm sorry, I have to go."
"Where do you live maybe I can take you home.
There's something about you that I just can't shake.
Can you at least take off you mask, so I can see your face?
I need to see the woman I'm going to marry someday."
"Maybe some other day, right now there's not enough time"
I rushed out the ball with my final goodbye.
I got home with a few seconds to spare
And was soon back to my "around the house" wear.
I was so happy that all of the accessories were mine to keep
That I didn't even realize I only had one shoe on my feet.
My adrenaline was pumping so that was the least of my worries.
I would soon find out that the other side was very important.
The next day, there was a buzz around town
About how the Prince of the Kingdom got let down.
He found his mate and she left him dry,
All he had was a slipper to remember her by.
He had to find her, he was losing sleep.
So he ordered for the shoe to be tried on every females' feet.
Every girl from old to young
He had to find out who this girl was.
He got to my house and rang the bell
But looked right past me when I went to say hey.
Our house was the last one on the block
And little did he know he was in the right spot.
He made my sisters try on the shoe.
They tried their hardest almost breaking their foot through.
Next was my stepmother, not exactly sure why
Cause her foot was so big, it wasn't even worth the try.
He looked at me and said "You're next."
You can bet your bottom dollar that shoe fit.
With not a bit of struggle to put it on
I looked at him as his eyes glowed.
"Cinderella, do you know what this means?
You're the woman that has been taking over my dreams.
You must come with me right this instant,
I want you and I to get a marriage certificate.
I didn't ask permission, I just walked towards the door.
He picked me up and said "A princesses feet should never touch the floor"
When we got to the courthouse you wouldn't believe
Who was in the big chair staring back at me.
My fairy godmother with the signed certificate already in her hand.
Then me and my new husband lived happily ever after.
The End

PoetryEveryone knows the story of Cinderella. This is a shorter version of the story, from my point of view. I twisted it a little bit. Not my best work, but I hope you enjoy.
