Zhang Yi Xing (张艺兴 ) or his stage name Lay (레이) is member Chinese-South Korean member EXO-M, EXO Chinese subgroup. He was supposed to be EXO-M’s leader but it was changed to Kris. In 2008, he was cast into S.M. Entertainment through the company's global casting system. Prior to joining S.M. Entertainment, Lay was a local child star in China, and made guest performances in various Chinese variety shows. In 2005, he also appeared 3rd place Star Academy in Hunan Economic TV. In 2011,Lay briefly worked for SHINee in their concert tour as Jonghyun's dance replacement. On January 17, 2012 Lay was formally introduced as a EXO-M member.

Lay shares room with Chen in Korea and shares room with Luhan in China. His personality rather naughty, but he’s really funny at times too and he is really forgetful. He is master in Chinese and Korean language. In EXO-M he called 'umma' in korean same meaning of mother because he like cooking, even when there's nothing to do, he will cook. He loves tidbits and likes eating junk foods. Lay had ideal type of woman is cute and filial.

(He also likes playing on the computer, likes all movies, all colours, all good tasting foods, and playing basketball. His most unforgettable moment was being on a TV show for the first time, his favourite celebrities are Super Junior, DBSK, SHINee, and JJ Lin, and his biggest wish is to open a 指纹店 for his mother. Your guess as to what that is is as good as mine. As a fan explains here, basically he means a VIP shop, because he wants his mother not to have to work so hard. As to why 指纹店...no one really...knows. But really, this child is...=.=||)

WAY BACK WHEN, SHINee had a concert and Jonghyun couldn't dance. And while I'm sad Jonghyun couldn't dance, now I'm a little thankful too because that means that Yixing joined SHINee on stage a lot. And I mean a lot. I could embed every single one of them but I'll just leave links at the bottom :) In the meantime, have him dancing Senorita what no I didn't choose this for the hip movements at all. Prior to SM, this was what he was most well known for. 明星学院 is this sort of...idol competition thing I DON'T KNOW ONE OF THOSE TV PROGRAMS and okay all I knew about it before 张艺兴 is that they interviewed 韩庚 for it at one point. BASICALLY there's a bunch of kids and they do stuff and uh he ended up coming out of the 2005 one in third place. 

Zhang Yixing's prominent dimples are a major characteristic which have been observed, photographed and archived by curious researches (read: fangirls) (and no, you don't poke his dimples. Only he can do that). These dimples have managed to turn even the most uninterested onlookers to hardcore Yixing-lovers.

The luminousity of his skin may be due to the amount of time he spent trying to appear magical under the moonlight.Zhang Yixing's not the main dancer of EXO for nothing. His passion for dancing shone through since his early teens, which is not surprising considering how he was a child star back in his homeland. Throughout the years, Yixing has managed to improve as a dancer, even more so after he was chosen as a trainee for SM Entertainment in 2008, landing him his current position as one of the main dancers of EXO. When teamed with Kai, this duo is deemed unbeatable, energy and passion merging together until everything is tossed aside, leaving nothing but their own performance art. It's almost mindblowing how balanced these two are when together. Even Yixing has confessed that he enjoyed dancing with Kai, and have had multiple dance battles with the latter in the past.

Yixing walks with a certain kind of flair fans termed it as his 'dick walk', supposedly stemming off from the laidback confidence (in other words: swag) Yixing was born with. He also has a quick gallop that allows him to escape from approaching enemies.

Zhang Yixing is certainly not a doppleganger to KrisHan in terms of style and fashion. His choice of clothing is distinct enough to set him apart from the other members. He dresses comfortably in simple pieces of clothing, donning on a jacket or a coat when the weather calls for it. His few treasure pieces are recognized to be his pair of maroon jeans, his beanie, his jelly bracelets and hismasks.

The airport is no runway for Yixing, but it's been one year, and in all the times EXO have been in and out of Korea and China, not once did we see our resident unicorn commit any fashion crimes so severe our toes start to curl. Sure, a few are rather questionable, but what is fashion without a little experiment?
