Merome one-shots

What is true love?

He was gone. I let him slip through my fingers so easily, and now he was gone. Let me explain what happened and why I'm upset and wanna kill myself.

-Flashback-

"I don't know why you don't trust me Mitch, I love you more than life." Jerome says with pleading eyes.

"YOU WERE OUT WITH YOUR EX-GIRLFRIEND. HOW AM I NOT SUPPOSED TO THINK SOMETHING IS GOING ON BETWEEN YOU!" I scream at him with rage in my eyes.

"Let me explain-"

"EXPLAIN WHAT! THAT YOUR CHEATING ON ME!"

"I love you Mitch, why would you think I was cheating on you?"

"BECAUSE YOU WERE OUT WITH YOUR EX!" I screamed with tears rushing down onto my cheeks.

"Just so you know I was asking her for her help on choosing something." Jerome says with tears rolling down his cheeks.

He grabs his jacket and starts to walk out the door. And then only in the last few seconds before he leaves do I realize what I have just done. I've ruined a relationship and a friendship in less than ten minutes.

-Present-

I want to kill myself, I really do. I have so many people that love me, not to mention all the lives I've saved due to my videos. None of that matters if I don't have Jerome with me though. I still love him and if he gave me a second chance, well I'd make it the best second chance anybody has ever gotten.

As I had been thinking to myself, a knock arises at my door. Puzzled, I walked over and answered the door. The person who was at the door shocked me.

"Hey, can I come in?" Jerome asked

"S-sure." I stuttered due to my surprise.

"I'm sorry I went out with my ex. She and I were shopping for something and I needed a second opinion." He stated.

"What were you shopping for?" I asked with curiosity lacing me question.

"This." He says getting down on one knee.

"Mitchell Donald Ralph Hughes, I have loved you ever since fourth grade. We started off hating each other, then we became acquaintances, friends, best friends, and now lovers. I love you so damn much that if I ever lost you, I - I don't know what I would do, probably kill myself. What I'm trying to ask you is. Will you be in my life forever by being my husband?"

He says finishing his beautiful speech and pulling out a black velvet box and opening it so I could see the diamond and ruby ring on the inside.

"Jerome, is that what you and her were shopping for?" I asked curiously.

"Yes, I wanted her opinion on what she would think would make you the most happy. I'm guessing she's not wrong, yes?" He asks with a smirk.

"I have to think about this Jerome, marriage is a big step in life." I say.

"Really?" He asks with a sad tone to his voice and a look of rejection in his eyes.

"No, I'm just kidding. I love you and yes Jerome, I will marry you."

"Guess that means I can do this now." He says leaning in slowly and connecting our lips in such a way that I feel as though it is our first kiss. The one we shared in the rain, when we first confessed, and the one where I finally realized what true love was.
