I left the hospital, walking next to Sherlock. We walked side-by-side, our shoulders nearly brushing against one another's. We had decided to head back to Baker Street due to the request of Mrs. Hudson.
The landlady decided she wanted to throw a small party in 221B. The only guests would be Sherlock, Mrs. Hudson, Lestrade, Molly, and myself. Lestrade had been able to sort things out so he could stay for an hour or so. Molly managed to somehow get out of work early.
Sherlock and I were silent as we walked down the street until we were about halfway there. "Uncle Sherlock." Sherlock said nearly to himself.
I looked over at him. "Aunt Maggie." I said in the same tone as he did.
Sherlock just shook his head and looked down at the ground behind him. I half-smiled. "Strange, isn't it?" I asked.
Sherlock glanced at me. "What is?" He questioned, looking back to the pavement ahead of us.
"To watch everyone's life progress." I answered. "While everyone has something completely normal and ordinary to do, we get chased by criminals and bullied by psychopaths."
Sherlock looked down at me. "And yet, on some occasions, we get bored. Imagine being ordinary." Sherlock cringed.
"Baker Street would fall." I replied.
The two of us grinned, laughing under our breath. When we finally arrived at Baker Street, we were silent once again. Sherlock opened the door that never seemed to be locked.
Mrs. Hudson suddenly appeared, running to the stairs and looking at us. She sighed, looking relieved. "I thought you were John and Mary." She said. She beckoned for us to follow her. "Come on up. Everyone is hear."
Sherlock and I followed Mrs. Hudson upstairs, the two of us side by side. We entered the room, everyone turning to see the new arrivals.
Lestrade was the first to speak. "Sherlock. Maggie. It's nice to see you again."
"Hello Lestrade." Sherlock greeted, nodding his head.
Sherlock continued speaking to Lestrade while I walked further into the room. Molly sat on the couch, looking down at the floor. As I walked over to her, she looked up and grinned slightly. "Hi Maggie." She said and stood from her seat.
"It's been a while, Molly." I said. "Anything new at the hospital?"
Molly shrugged, stuffing her hands into her pockets. "Just a lot of death." She let out a nervous laugh and looked down at her feet.
The corners of my lips lifted slightly. Before I could say anything, Mrs. Hudson rushed inside. "They're coming. Everybody hide." She whispered, grinning excitedly.
Sherlock and Lestrade stood around the corner in the kitchen. Molly, Mrs. Hudson, and I stood behind the door.
I heard a pair of footsteps. Confused, I glanced up from the floor. Sherlock was also peering around the corner, a puzzled expression briefly crossing his face.
Mrs. Hudson looked at me. "What is it?" She whispered.
"Only one set of footsteps." I replied. I turned my attention to the door, my body rigid.
The footsteps approached the door, hesitating. I looked over at Sherlock. He held up a hand, gesturing for me to stay put.
Eventually, the footsteps started again and someone walked inside. "Hello? Johnny?" The woman asked.
The strange woman looked to her right, spotting me in mid-step towards her. She turned to face me. "Oh. Hello. I didn't know Johnny had company." She said.
Her long, red hair was messy due to the wind outside. She shifted uneasily on her feet as I looked at her. "Who are you?" I asked, glancing behind her at Sherlock.
The woman stepped forward, holding out her hand. "I'm Harry. Harry Watson. Who might you be?" She asked, her expression changing from confused to irritated.
