The two sisters shove a few last minute items into their suitcases, gazing at each other as they sigh. "I can't believe we're actually doing this, Oceana." The green-eyed twin breathes, gazing at her other half.
"Neither can I, Aspen." The blue-eyed one murmurs, fiddling with the zipper of her suitcase. "Well, let's go say goodbye to mom and dad." Her Pennsylvania Dutch accent is heavy as her twin nods.
The Smith twins were different for being twins, immediately something was different about them. One had green eyes, the other blue. But otherwise, they looked very similar. But again, their personalities were strikingly different.
"Mom? Dad?" The older of the two, Aspen, calls. "In the kitchen, loves." Their mother calls, her voice like velvet. The two ladies walk into the kitchen, suitcases in hand and bags thrown over shoulders.
Their mothers hazel eyes almost immediately glaze over and tears spring into their path, her hand flying up to hide her wobbling lips. "My babies are leaving for a great city." She whispers as their brunette father wraps an arm around his wife's shoulder.
"Oh, Mooom." Oceana drawls out, slightly annoyed by her mother's actions. "Don't cry, Mother." Aspen walks over to her mom, wrapping her long arms around the rounded shoulders of the older woman. "We'll visit whenever possible."
Her mother wraps her skinny arms around her daughters back, "I love you two, dearly." Her voice shook softly with tears, "Be careful out in L.A. girls, you're barely adults." Their father makes his appearance known with a chuckle, "Hun, they're 20, I think they can handle themselves."
Oceana sends her father a grateful look, "Okay, Mom, we should be going now. We don't want to miss our plane." The green-eyed twin lets go of their mother so her other half and their father can quickly hug her. "Love you, Mom!" The twins call in sync.
Closing the door to their childhood home, Aspen gazes at it with glossy eyes. "A new beginning..." She says quietly before turning around and following her twin and father to his white truck.
Taking a seat in the back as her sister had called shotgun, she buckles up her safety belt and asked her father to turn on the radio. "Of course, love." He replied, turning the radio on and turning the volume up a bit.
The ride to the airport was in comfortable silence. Aspen gazing out the window at the small town and lush forest.
Entering the airport, it disgusted Aspen. It was so clean and white as if washing away everything. After checking in, they took a seat as they waited for their plane to be called. "Plane to Los Angeles taking off in 10 minutes, board now." The speaker called.
The twins stood up, luggage in hand, turning to their father. Aspen's green eyes sprung up with tears, "I love you, Dad." She wraps her arms around his torso, his arms around her shoulders. They both squeezed, knowing this will be their last time physically seeing each other for a while.
Aspen steps away, sniffling softly before stepping to the side to allow Oceana to hug her father. The twin had her eyes squeezed shut, arms tightly wrapped around her father's neck. "Bye..." The blue-eyed lady whispers, speaking for the two of them.
Their father sniffles as well, giving one last squeeze to his daughter. "Goodbye... have fun and be careful." He advises as he watched his two daughters grab their luggage and walk off to the gate.
Aspen hands in her ticket and starts walking down the corridor with her twin to board the plane to their future. A phone begins to ring and the green-eyed twin turns to see her younger sister getting a call. "Garroth?" She asks, receiving a nod.
As Oceana answered the called, Aspen kept walking and boarded the plane. Choosing two seats that were beside each other, she helped her sister put their luggage in the cubbies. Taking the seat on the inside, she looked at her sister speaking on the phone with their best friend.
She pulled out her phone to check the time and saw her background with her family and Garroth. She smiled before seeing that it was 8:45. She chuckles softly, thinking about how they had to get Garroth up so early as it was 5:45 for him.
She grabs her earphones and plugs them into her phone, putting on her playlist from Spotify. She noticed that her sister was done talking on the phone and took out her earbud, hanging it over her ear.
She tapped the blue-eyed girl, gaining her attention, she did the same thing as the other. "What did Garroth want?" She asks quietly. "He said he'd meet us inside when our plane landed," Oceana explains, receiving a nod from her sister.
Turning to face the window again, she smiles.
