I was thinking that there must be hundreds of thousands of promises that were made or are being made.           And many of them were left unfulfilled and became the regrets of many people.         I think promises sometimes are born of the inherent fear that we have that something is not going to last.            And that's why we make promises so that we can solidify our hope and have a reason to wake up again, every day.            They're just a personification of the hope that we want to have in our future or maybe for giving hope to a person who's drowning. And that makes it easier to admit that every person dies, so can they.
