"Wait here, okay, Akari?" Dazai asked.

She saluted him. "Yes, sir!"

"Good girl," he praised.

Chuuya clicked his tongue in annoyance. "Disgusting."

"I'll kill you!" Akari happily exclaimed as she slowly unsheathed her sword.

"Now, now, let's behave, children," Dazai requested.

Dazai and Chuuya bickered the whole way down to the basement that contained Q while Akari waited outside as a guard.

Akari noticed something beyond the forest line. She squinted to get a better look. Suddenly, a tentacle shot out for her. She jumped up, avoiding the tentacle and landing on top of it. The tip of it attempted to attack her again. She jumped once more and unsheathed one sword, cutting down on the tentacle.

Another tentacle aimed for someone behind her. It was Chuuya. She continued to jump as multiple came after her. She cut each one of them down, but they seemed to regenerate.

Dazai looked out. "Oh dear, look at my poor kitten doing all the work."

"I'm a fox!" she exclaimed.

A tentacle wrapped around her waist and threw her to the side. She rammed into a tree and fell onto her knees.

"Owie," she mumbled, rubbing the back of her head.

"Don't worry, Akari. I'll take care of it with a touch of my finger," Dazai reassured.

Then, a tentacle attacked him, throwing him into a tree. Chuuya fought Lovecraft for a moment before checking up on him.

"Those tentacles are strange," Dazai commented. "I can't disable them."

"No way. Is that even possible?" Chuuya asked.

"There are no exceptions to my disabling ability. There's only one possibility. It's not a gift."

"Seriously? That can't be, man. If it's not a gift, then what is it?" Chuuya asked.

Akari pouted. "It doesn't matter to me what it is. I don't like getting hurt, and it did a number on me."

"Okay, Chuuya, time for Operation Shame and Toad!" Dazai exclaimed.
