As I walked under the stage to the pop-up platform I listened to the screaming fans. My heartbeat beated so fast I could hear the blood pumping through my head. It was my first time doing this and I was already surprised at how many people had come to my first live show.
I've never been good at crowds, but I had confidence and that was what as pumping my adrenaline right now. Nobody back home had thought I would ever get here, but here I am. I stepped onto the platform and nodded as my dad talked ot me, trying to calm my nerves except, I wasn't nervous.
I took off my robe and flung it at my dad who caught it and gave me a wide smile. I felt someone tap my shoulder and turned around to one of the music agents and gave him a smile as he handed me my microphone.
"Alright, here we go!" I said into the microphone as I started going up. Standing up-right from my crouched position I took in the screaming fans, the loud music, the camera flashes and the scene. It was awesome I gave them a wide grin.
"You wake up it raining and its monday.
Looks like one of those rough days
Time's up, your late again, so get out the door..."
I smiled bigger as I watched the crowd grin and clap, singing along with me as I sang my first verse. They wolf-whistled and cheered, showing there appreciation. I was surprised to see a few guys in the crowd, but hey, that was cool too.
"Sometimes you feel like running
Find a whole new life and jump in
Lets go, get up and hit the dance floor
But when the lights go down its the ending of the show
And your feeling like you got nowhere to go
Don't you know"
I sang running around on the stage, this was good, this as a new life, a new exhilaration. I loved it. I couldn't explain what it was or what made me feel like this, but this was the dream, to be like my dad, make my dad proud.
" You can change your hair and you can change your clothes
You can change your mind its just the way it goes
You can say goodbye, and you can say hello
But you'll always find your way back home."
dad proud. My dancers came out and started dancing with me on the stage, I was surprised, I was moving so much but hardly out of breath and I loved the exhilaration the crowd just gave off, it was welcoming me. Singing to me. The crowd was out of control the security barely holding back the sceaming girls as they shoved and pushed each other with posters sticking in the air.
"You cna change your style, yeah you can change your jeans
You can learn to fly, and to chase your dreams
You can laugh and cry but everybody knows,
You'll always find your way back home"
I ran off the stage when the lights dimmed only letting the crowd see the dancers and the and the official music video on the projector. As I ran back stage I let out a the huff of air I was holding and took the water bottle form my dad while mubling a 'thank-you Daddy'.
This was all I ever wanted, and I was living it right now. It was my life.
End of Prologue.
