     Crack.

The little Rainwing poked her head out of her eggshell and blinked. There was a sudden tingle in her talons. She wondered why, but that was not it. What caught her attention was the sight she was seeing at the very moment. What was this place? Why are there two other eggs in front of her? She didn't understand at all, this strange place, the colours of yellow, orange and pink flowing in the sky above her. And the most strangest thing of all, was the glowing golden ball of warmth between the mountain peaks. She could feel its warmth, as if the bright orange ball was in her talons. She wondered if she could touch it, that flaming ball. It looked so real...as if it was right in front of her. She reached out a talon and tried to grasp it, but she couldn't get it. She struggled in frustration, but she tumbled out of her egg instead, and fell on a soft pile of sticks.

"Hm?" She mumbled. She got up on all fours and realized she could walk. She walked steadily to one of the eggs in front of her, lying in the nest. It was a black one, with little white spots all over. She looked to her broken eggshell and back at the egg. How come her egg was different? Her's was a pale white one, with a slight rainbow colour all over. Maybe every egg was different? She looked to the other egg, a turquoise one with blue swirls around it. That one was different too. But why are the eggs in her nest? She thought for a while, staring at the sunset.

     Then it hit her.

Of course! Why hadn't she thought of that earlier? Maybe... they were sisters! She looked at the black egg with a glow in her eyes and flapped her wings twice excitedly. Sisters! She wondered what it was like to have a sister. They could hang out! And they can go explore this whole new world, once they're ready! But something told her that they should better hide than reveal themselves to the world. She looked down at her talons. That was it. Her talons told her. But how, a normal pair of talons telling a dragon to do something! Ridiculous! But then she remembered the light and reassuring tingle she felt in her talons the second she hatched. She concentrated for a minute and realized it was still there. She knew her pair of talons weren't just any pair of talons, they were special. She knew that her talons knew something she didn't know.

Like what held in her future.
