Chapter Two

"You are my lobster." God she is perfect.

I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock buzzing, it is eight thirty and I am lying next to the girl of my dreams. Our biology final for this semester started at nine fifteen.

"Natalie, time to get up. They are serving cinnamon rolls in the mess hall, your favorite."

"Ugh, I don't want to take that stupid test, we took the same one last semester. I already have an A in that class, I think I'm just going to skip. Please stay with me." She said as she rolled over facing me and grabbed my arm.

"Baby, I can't I need to get my B up to an A if I wanna keep my scholarship, you do too so get up and put on my sweats and let's go." I said as I tossed her a pear of my grey sweats, even though they were way to long for her, she still looked adorable as she had the ends rolled up.

"Oh my god I forgot how good these were." Nat said as she fell over onto me smiling as she ate her gigantic cinnamon roll.

"You say that every time, but you're right they are delicious." Alex said. Katy and Alex joined us for breakfast for two reasons, one this was our thing as a friend group, two Nat asked Katy to bring her favorite hoodie of mine to wear.

"It's nine shouldn't you guys get going?" Katy said checking her phone.

"Shit we need to go!" I said as I grabbed my bag and pulled Nat out of her chair and started carrying her since she is very slow. We got to my car and Nat climbed into the passenger seat, even though our class in only across campus its a long ways to walk, the campus is huge. We showed up to class a minute early. After we finished the final we could leave, Nat finished before me so she slide me a note telling me that she was going back to my room to play some Mario Kart. Once I finished I drove my car back to the dorms and headed up to my room, but right before I got to my room I got a text.

Hey Tate, long time no talk but I just thought that I'd let you know that Zach escaped and they haven't found him yet.

Hi? Who is this?

Ava don't you remember me? We were best friends before college.

Ava? Ava Rose?

Yes, now Zach got out and they haven't found him and I think you should fly back over so we can talk about this in person, for all we know he could be plotting mass murder again.

I can't just fly back I have a life here a job, friends, classes, a girlfriend.

Girlfriend? Does she know about your powers? Or your past?

Yes a girlfriend is there a problem? And no and no. I haven't used my powers in over a month.

Well then bring her its about time she finds out. And that's not healthy you need to use them or you could get seriously sick.

Fine but I am not using my powers and I'm bringing her back to meet my parents anyways so you are lucky.
