Wolf, wolf, wolf.

That was his name.

The boy with the grinning eyes.

The blonde hair tied back in a bow.

Mein klein Wolfie.

He was a genius.

I knew it as soon as I saw it.

Quick fingers

That scaled the shimmering ivories.

Mein klein Wolfie.

And he was mad.

Still a child at twenty three.

With a giggle and a grin,

Ah, but he made me laugh.

Mein klein Wolfie.

And he frustrated me

With his less than proper ways

With his manner

But, oh, he was fabulous.

Mein klein Wolfie.

By thirty five he was gone.

Taken by an illness

Late at night when I was not there.

Bis dann, he said.

Mein klein Wolfie.

There was no funeral.

None for the little wolf.

I watched as he was buried.

Just I, alone

Staying for Mein klein Wolfie.

Bis dann, Wolfgang.
