as a broke college student you had to live in a small, stuffy apartment with your roommate, hoseok. you were really annoyed at first that you still had to have a roommate in the small apartment but overtime you found that your roommate was a really outgoing and caring guy so you didn't really mind him staying with you.after all, he's a big help in the house anyway.always doing the dishes and volunteering to do the laundry.
to pay off your rents, you worked in a small convenience store and the manager normally assigned you to take over for midnight shift cus he said you were "young and healthy". can't he see these fuckin big ass eyebags just chilling on your face?you were always dreading to do your shift but if it was for your rent you had to do it.it was so tiring to have to drag yourself over to the stupid stall just to sit there and wait till six am.its not like any customers came in anyway.you never really understood why the store was opened 24 hrs. your only co-worker thats supposed to accompany you during your midnight shift always escaped to meet his girlfriend and would only come back at the last hour of your shift, hair all ruffled up and shirt halfway buttoned.you tried complaining about that bastard to your manager but he would just shoo you away because he didnt really give a shit so you had to deal with your loneliness during your shift.
when you came home, you was greeted by a light meal prepared on the table and a small post-it stuck right next to it on the kitchen counter, saying
"thought you'd be hungry~sunshine"
what a sweetheart.you thought as you pulled out one of the tall chairs and plopped your ass on it, smiling to yourself before grabbing the utensils which were neatly placed on the plate, digging into the food whole-heartedly. hoseok was honestly one of the reasons why you could keep up with this barely-any-sleep life. you had your family of course, who were supporting you by sending some money for your meals and stuff.friends?hmm you didn't particularly have friends, only one or two of them but you drifted from them after you moved into the apartment and didn't really had time to spend with them anyway.

you were preparing yourself for the long hours of your midnight shift with your cup of hand-brewed coffee you got earlier, now cold as you take a sip, choking on it a little as your lips parted with the edge of the mug, then staring at it with utter disgust."i thought i just made it...." you mumbled as you pouted a little before placing your mug down gently beside the register on the counter.you walked towards the shelf, humming to yourself and grabbed the first thing of the shelf; you did a re-stock of the items on all of the shelf for a whole hour, your fingers cramping a little and you eased your fingers by flinging your wrists before opening the blue-pepsi fridge, reaching out for the box on the floor.the chimes at the entrance of the store clinked against each other, and your ears twitched a little, your insides flipping as you immediately stood upright, your head moving on its own to face the door across you, your eyes scanning the hybrid that stepped in the store, from head to toe.he seemed like a fox....no, a wolf hybrid.his light blue hair had little hints dust-grey, parting a little more to the side than in the middle, exposing his clear, slightly tanned skin.your eyes lingered to his mahogany eyes, which were frantically looking around the shelves, before landing on the fridge you were initially planning to re-stock next.he walked towards you with his hands by his side before greeting you with a warm smile that made your heart feel things.you could see his deep ass dimples when he smiled and fought back the big urge to just tip toe and poke his dimples with your fingers, oh how lovely would that be?his skin would be so soft---"e-excuse me..."the hybrid leaned forward a little and squinted at your name tag, making you flush at the small intimacy."y/n?"you were brought back to reality when you heard your name, blinking your eyes a couple of times, catching a glimpse of him mumbling your name a couple of times, rolling it over his tongue to test if he said it right.you found that really cute and soft." i-i needs get something from the fridge if you don't mind" he continued before flashing you his cute smile again, still leaning forward."i d-dont mind"you mumbled as you quickly slid to the side, hitting your arm on the fridge door in the process of course you don't mind, you're supposed to let him take his stuff without asking you you thought.he looked at you with a concerted look and you raised up your arm with a "ok" sign and he nodded and turned back to the fridge, slender fingers pushing aside some of the stranded cans that you didn't sort yet, and grabbed a light-brown item.you were rubbing your arm when you figured its time you go over to the counter and wait for him to finish picking out his stuff.you adjusted your name tag and strolled your way to the counter, kicking open the little barrier beside the counter and slid into the little space, resting your palms on the table.you were checking out your hands and reconsidering your life choices before you heard a series of clatters and curses.you jumped a little at the sound before raising your head to look across.there stood the hybrid, jaw clenched, turning around to pick up cans of drinks on the floor, only to hit more of them in the fridge down with him fluffy tail behind him in which you didn't notice earlier.you let out a ugly wheeze before stumbling over to him, his ears perking up when he heard you, and looked at you, chuckling deeply from slight embarrassment before crouching down and picking up the now dented cans.you helped to pick up some and checked the can's condition before shoving it in the fridge again.he was holding his tail tightly and pressing agaisnst his side, probably not wanting to damage more stuff. you smiled at him before heading back to your spot as he trailed behind you until you slid back infront of the register, ready to beep his products.he gently placed a light brown cup infront of you.a instant coffee. you found it a little strange since no one really drinks instant coffee these days but decided not to ask about it, you didn't wanted to be like those other co-workers in the afternoon shift, being way too optimistic and wanting to make shopping here "pleasurable" by bombarding customers with unnecessary questions.you took the item in your hands and beeped it before asking if he wants a plastic bag, looking up as your gaze locked with his for a second before he replied
"nah, saving the environment ya'know?"you chuckled a little and let out a hum of agreement.
"its true.the world is slowly crumbling down with each passing day."you stated.
"not if we do something about it" he said as his tail swished back and forth behind him and his ears were upright.
you pushed the item towards his direction and chuckled once again at him.he looked so determined.cute.
"that'd be 2,000 won,sir."
"please, call me namjoon...or rm"he smiled, showing off his dimples you yearned to poke
you tilt your head at his name, even his name was cute?what is this?
"alright,that would be 2,000 won....namjoon"
you held out your hand politely and waited for a couple of seconds before a 5,000 won note was slipped gently onto your palms, his finger brushing over your a little.your face immediately flushed deep red, and proceeded to smack the register open and place the note in, fumbling around for his change and slapping the register close again, the register squeaking shut.you placed the change gently onto namjoons outstretched palm.he thanked you before looking straight into your eyes before flashing you his killer smile, turning his body to face the glass door, only then you realise you would be alone again for the next three hours and felt a little saddened.
he placed his fingers on the cold handle, and paused for a little while before turning his head back to you and tilts it, waving good-bye to you and waits for you to wave back.your heart skipped a beat at how he actually thought about saying goodbye as you raised your hand and waved slightly, blushing hard.he couldnt really see that you were flustered but thanks to his hyrbrid senses he could hear your loud thumping of your heart and chuckled to himself and pusing the door open, cold breeze hitting his face . he shivered just a little before walking forward.you stared at his figure through the glass door before he disappeared when he turned left into another street.you sighed as loneliness washed over you once again, and you plopped down on your chair, staring at your own coffee, only hoping that the night, or morning now, would pass quickly, totally forgetting about re-stocking.
