Behind Her Blue Eyes

Prologue

Her friend Katherine chased after Alice when she slammed the door and ran down the stairs crying. Her mom once again accused her of doing something she hadn't done.

Alice always did what she was asked and if not she tried her best to do whatever it was that was needed to be done. Her mom accused her of stealing photos that belonged to "her". But in truth Alice and her brother Drew had those photos taken when they were in San Diego travelling with their Grandparents and not their mom. Which meant since her grandmother gave them to her they were hers. Not her mothers.

Katherine finally caught up to Alice as she started to slow down. "Hey," Katherine said cautiously trying not to upset her already distraught friend. "Alice, sometimes you just have to take it up the ass and not argue." She said softly.

Alice started crying again "But my mom always fucking blames me for shit. According to my entire family I'm the fuck-up and I can tell they're all just waiting to see what I will screw up next. Like, where's the popcorn and the junior mints?" Alice sniffled and let her traitor tears fall down her face onto the pavement.

Alice told Katherine everything. She even told her things her mother didn't know. Alice and Katherine made a vow that as soon as they were eighteen they were moving to Europe. They promised they'd pack up and leave their place of total irrevocable misunderstanding. Leave the place of their abuse.

"Ally," said Katherine. "Yeah Kat?" Alice said with a snifle. "Lets go back upstairs watch this movie and enjoy our night and tomorrow we'll go swimming okay?" Katherine insisted.

Ally nodded and grabbed Kat's arm. They walked up the stairs together. Kat's brunette hair bounced perfectly and Ally's blonde wavy hair flopped in awkward movements. Ally stared at her best friend suddenly envious of her best friend.

They walked through the door without a word. As if Kat could read her mind she tossed Ally her bag of Cool Ranch Doritos and grabbed her bag of Funyuns. They laid down on their makeshift bed (they made it out of blankets) and pressed the play button.

The new movie "Are You Here?" ,started to play. The movie bored the crap out of Kat and Ally. When the movie was over Ally's mom went to bed. "Oh thank God" Ally thought.

And then their night began....
