"Babeh, move ya head. I gots ta go." You were resting on August's chest, the both of you intertwined on the couch. The living room was dim, the only source of light being from the moon, which seeped through the blinds. The once jovial atmosphere was now gone. You gazed at his chest, which rose and fell as he chuckled. A knot formed in your throat. And where exactly would he be going at twelve o'clock at night?

Let me guess, "the studio"? You couldn't believe this shit.

The two of you had fun all day,

and he was still set to leave.

To go see h e r.

You hastily batted your eyelashes, trying to blink away the stinging tears. "C'mon na, (Your Name). Ya know I got ta go ta the studio.." He whispered, as he placed his finger beneath your chin and lifted your face to his. His eyebrows scrunched together. "Whatchu cryin fa'?" He questioned, pressing his plump lips onto your forehead. "You already know that I hate it when you leave me." You stated, barely above a whisper, voice trembling, as you began to trace the tattoos on his chest. August sucked his teeth. "I know, babeh girl. But I got ta work." Ha! 'Work'. Right. You pushed yourself off of him, and shook your head, which caused tears to cascade down your cheekbones.

"Okay, August. Do you." Casting him a forced smile, you rolled your eyes, and began stomping up the stairs. By now, you were gasping, fighting to bring air to your lungs, as you abruptly brushed your arm beneath your running nose. You could hear the light tapping of his footsteps following behind you. You sauntered into your bedroom, locking the door. August heavily exhaled on the other side, as you threw yourself onto your bed, miserably covering your face with your hands. "(Your Name), tha fuck wrong wit you?" He shouted. "I'm tryna provide fa you, ma family, an you're on dis bullshit?" You weren't sure if you should laugh, or cry, at the fact that he thought you were that dumb. You took a deep breath, before uncovering your face. "JUST GO, AUGUST!" you screamed, with whatever energy remained in you. You were fed up with his shit. It was silent for a while, before he murmured, "Man, whateva. Fuck you." Your heart plummeted as he slammed the door.
