(Y/N)

I was awakened by the familiar tune of my alarm clock. It was 6 o'clock... time for work. I rolled out of bed and slowly stood up, groaning as my body readgusted. My name is (Y/N) (L/N) and I work at Stark Industries. I am one of the scientists that worked on Jericho Missiles and I have also helped Mr. Stark on some of his Iron Man suits.

As soon as I finished my breakfast, I grabbed my laptop bag and purse and headed out the door. The time was 6:30, and I was supposed to be there at... 6:45! I live about 10 minutes away but I had a feeling that it would take a little bit longer than that today. I pulled out of my driveway and started to drive over to the lab. I reached the last of the three intersections I had to drive through. This one I had to turn right. The light turned green and I tilted the steering wheel while pressing the acceleration pedal. Finally, I made it!

I parked my car in my spot in the parking deck and grabbed all of my bags and my ID. I checked my watch. It was 6:42. I just made it!

(Y/N)

After working for six hours, I had my hour long break. I decided to go to the park today. It was right around the corner and I told Alyssa, my partner, where I was incase they needed me. I exited the lab and then I found myself on the sidewalk. I started to walk to the park. When I arrived, I found that there were a group of younger kids on the playground and another group of teenagers by the picnic benches. So, I decided to sit on the bench facing towards the nearby road. I pulled my notebook out of my bag and started to work on my latest project directly from Mr. Stark: a web bomb for Spider-Man. I took out a pencil and started to work.

That's when my life changed, probably forever.

One of the littler kids, a boy, ran past my bench, chasing after a small ball. I thought nothing of it until I heard screaming. I looked up and realized that he was about to run into that intersection I was talking about earlier. I quickly stood up, dropping my notebook, and I sprinted over to the road.  The boy had finally reached the ball and picked up, smiling for himself. That's when I saw the bus coming towards him. I yelled at the boy, but he didn't seem to hear me. Panicking, I knew what I had to do.

I ran into the road.

I know, not the smartest thing. But I had to save this boy.

Once I reached him, I looked back at the bus and saw that they weren't going to stop and I wasn't going to be able to avoid them without getting hit by another car. So I picked up the boy and I tossed him over to the nearby sidewalk where a crowd was gathering.

That's when everything went black.

???

I was sitting with Pepper in the (Y/N)'s hospital room, waiting for her to wake up so we could transport her to Stark Tower where Banner could treat her. It's been three days since she was hit by that bus. Peter, who happened to be at the park too, hanging with his nerdy friends, told us everything. A little kid, who we learned was named Matthew Quinn, ran out into the road to catch a ball and (Y/N) ran after him to save him. A bus was coming down the street and (Y/N) knew she wouldn't be able to make it to the sidewalk in time so she picked up the kid and tossed him to the sidewalk where a crowd was, including Peter.

The bus hit her and she went flying back and was hit a second time into the winshield. The bus was being used to illegally transport radioactive chemicals and she came in contact with all of them. Peter said that when she was carried out of the bus by paramedics, he could see a light blue shimmer surrounding her body.

And now we're here.

Suddenly, (Y/N) sat up. "W-Why can't I see? Am I awake?"

Pepper went closer to her bed and grabbed her hand, trying to reassure her by telling her, "(Y/N), when you were hit by that bus, you went through the wind shield. Pieces of the glass pierced your eyes, causing you to go blind."

"H-How long have I- Have I been out," she asked, her body shaking.

I finally spoke up, "(Y/N), it's Tony. You've been out for three days. And... there's something else," I paused and she looked around to find where I was. I touched her other hand gently and started again, "The bus was being used to transport radioactive chemicals, illegally obviously. When you went through the windshield, you came in contact with all of them in one way or another. I think it would be good if you were tested by Dr. Banner to see if you have any... other changes."

She slowly nodded. I looked at Pepper and she continued to talk to (Y/N). I stepped out of the room and called Fury.

"Fury, (Y/N) is awake. We are going to transport her to the Tower now."

"I will tell Rodgers and Banner to be ready."

"Thanks, Fury."

"Did you just thank me, Stark?"

I hung up before he could heckle me about it anymore. See, (Y/N) is kind of like my own daughter. William, her father, was a dear friend of mine and an old colleague. Susanne, her mother, was friends with Pepper. But that was before they both died on a mission against Hydra. That's right. Her parents were Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

But she can't know that.
