Chapter 8- an amazing connection
"This party is so dead," I groaned as everyone nodded along, tired of the party because none of us were having any fun.
"Whose idea was it to come to this shit anyway?" Blake asked and all of us turned to him, furiously. "Oops, my bad."
"Can we leave? I'd rather party at our apartment," Venson turned to me.
"I agree."
"Well then, let's head home. School will kill us tomorrow, it's already two," Emma suggested and we all nodded, slowly making our ways out of the club.
Sneaking into clubs wasn't hard for us due to the fact that we all had a fake ID and the security outside was familiar with us. We only had to use our ID's when Derrick wasn't there.
Not being able to see clearly, I tripped and almost fell but Venson caught me by my waist. His hands rested on my waist and mine on his shoulders. "Here, I got you, Bunny."
"Thanks," I smiled at him as he held onto my waist and led me out of the club behind the others.
"What the fuck is that?" Emma came to a halt and pointed at a fountain outside of the club. It was a strange place to keep a fountain, but it wasn't small either. It was at least quite tall and I would've estimated even better if I wasn't so drunk out of my mind.
"What happened babe?" Blake stared at his beloved girlfriend, confusion spreading across his face as he looked back and forth between the fountain and Emma.
"You forgot our tradition!" She whined.
I looked up at Venson for an explanation, my eyes slowly shutting due to being sleep deprived. The week went fast but sleep kept kicking my ass. I hadn't been sleeping much, mostly because I was worried about grandma Olive.
"Bunny," Venson's soothing voice called out as his soft fingers brushed against my jawline and my eyes opened wide.
"I am fine," I replied back, leaning against his chest as he held me tightly against him.
Somehow, I felt safe in his arms. As if I belonged there and after being separated for years, we were finally together.
But not the way I wanted to be.
"You guys forgot our tradition," Emma retorted and then it hit us. Oh! "The fountain!"
"Here?" Blake questioned and she nodded.
"Emma, we're out in public," Candice called out.
"And?"
Noah shook his head. "People will laugh at us."
"Who cares about the people?" Emma rolled her eyes and made her way towards the fountain as we followed behind. "I care about you guys and we always do this."
"I'm down," Venson smiled as I looked up and found him staring down at me, still holding me close to him.
"I'm down too," I replied back to which Venson smiled. His stupid goddamned smile that made my heart skip a beat every time. But he just didn't know.
Blake shrugged. "Who am I to not enjoy our most favorite tradition?"
"Hold your partners boys, we're going to race for it," Blake called out softly.
"Ready Bunny?" Venson asked and I nodded softly. He dipped down and swept me off my feet, holding me against his chest in a bridal way. His nose nuzzled against my cheek causing goosebumps to arise and the feeling overwhelmed me. I wrapped my arms around his neck and he grinned at me cheekily. "Let's get them."
I looked to our sides to find Blake holding Emma in his arms and she chuckled at something he whispered in her ear. Gosh, they were the cutest!
On the other hand, Noah held Candice to him and readied himself. "Last one to get wet will be the winner."
"On my mark," Blake called out softly as the boys held onto us tightly, ready to run to the fountain. "Three, two, one... go!"
Venson moved so quickly that everything seemed like a blur until I saw the water running from the fountain. "Now would be a great time to throw the water on them, Bunny."
I rolled my eyes and cupped my palm, filling it with some water then he ran towards Noah. "Bye bye, losers," I chuckled and splashed the water on Candice because Noah didn't cover her.
"Noah!" She shouted at him angrily, annoyed because they always lost. "Can I please sign a petition to change my partner?"
"I'm so sorry, I was so focused on you that I didn't notice them coming," Noah pouted sweetly and Candice smiled, pecking his cheek.
"It's fine," she responded as Venson took me towards the fountain and I filled my palms with water as it dropped down slowly.
"Now would be great, Bugs!" I called out but he swung me around to cover me from the water that Emma threw towards my direction.
"Sorry Bunny, I can't let you get wet. Not yet anyways," he winked and something inside of fluttered. My mind was so dirty that I could stop my cheeks getting red from blushing.
"Bunny," his voice called out once again as I filled my palms with water and he rushed over to Blake and Emma.
I saw an opening when she was gathering water and Venson nodded. Chuckling, I splashed the water on Emma and she gasped as it streamed down her face. Blake rolled his eyes when he realized that he left an opening and Candice chuckled.
"Well, Venson and Lex won," Noah stated with a small smile. "Again!"
"Ever since we were little kids, you both always win," Emma pouted and Blake slowly put her back on her feet. "You guys never let us win."
"What can I say? My bunny and I have always had an amazing connection and understanding," Venson winked at me, making my heart flutter and my eyes shine. His grip around me only got tighter whereas everyone else were on the ground.
"You plan on holding onto my sister for the night?" Blake questioned protectively, eyeing Venson's arms around me as Emma jabbed her elbow to his chest.
"How about forever?" Venson smirked causing the butterflies inside my stomach flutter.
"Watch out Bugs, don't make any promises that you can't keep," I whispered against his ear and found his dark eyes staring at me with an unknown emotion.
"Alright, let's head home. Our parents will kill us tonight," Candice sighed deeply.
"No they won't," Emma smiled and jumped on Blake's back as he held onto her tightly with a smile on his face.
"I'm sure they're awake and awaiting our return," Noah finally said as we all headed towards our cars. "Sitting ducks and ready to beat our asses."
"I told them that you are all staying over at my home tonight," Blake replied back which brought a smile on Noah and Candice's face. "And because my parents aren't home, nobody will suspect a thing."
"I can't believe my boyfriend is smart as well as hot," Emma pouted and Blake turned his neck slightly to kiss her on the lips.
Seeing them like that made me want to have a relationship for myself. I had never thought of having one. I had been reserving myself for years because I was in love with Venson. That idiot had my heart but didn't seem to catch any hints. Maybe I'll have to spell it out for him and I was ready to.
You miss a hundred percent of the shots you don't take. And I didn't want to miss it with him. He was everything to me.
Finally, I was going to tell him how I felt.
Smiling, I nuzzled closer to his neck and then everything went dark.
