Aurora hated the way her brain worked. She wasn't sure why she was the way she was or why she would deal with things the way she did and despite hating it, she wasn't sure how to change. Since coming home from the hospital last night, Aurora's phone had been blowing up with messages from Mason, Kaylee, and Danielle, all three of them telling her how worried they were about her and asking what had happened. After sending a quick text to Danielle, Aurora had switched her phone off, not wanting to deal with any of it.
It made her feel even worse when she would think about them because she knew that they were only worried about her because they loved her and cared about her and her family, but she found herself shutting down every time something went wrong in her life. She didn't want her friends to worry about her and she hated people feeling sorry for her so she would normally just deal with things on her own – She had to do that a lot growing up, especially since a lot of her time and energy was used on caring for her two younger sisters.
