Oh, God.

"Surprise, Fia!"

Oh, dear God.

My eyes were round and probably bulging as they stared in front of me in shock.

"We're here!" Aunt Sarah launched herself at me, hugging me tight. "Merry Christmas!"

Horrified, I looked over her shoulder to the rest of the family peering out of the door.

Yes.

I closed my eyes tight as dread filled me.

The whole family was here in my house.

My grandparents, Aunt Sarah's husband, Uncle Charlie, and their children , Christian, Cynthia and Casey were here.

Why were they here?

"Let them in before my daughter turns blue, Sarah," Dad barked from the doorway. "And that boy beside her can go away."

That boy was of course, Leon.

And for the first time ever, I was in full agreement that Leon can go away. He definitely should leave. No way was I going to put him in this mess.

"And you must be Leon," Aunt Sarah cried enthusiastically, letting go of me. "It's nice to finally meet you! Come, come inside."

Leon gave me a glance as my aunt pulled him into the house. I stayed rooted outside, still wondering why the heck they were all here.

"I told them this was a bad idea," Christian stepped out the door. "But they didn't listen."

Nervous anger flamed my cheek. Of course they wouldn't.

It was the evening before Christmas. Leon's Dad's flight had been delayed and he wouldn't be coming until tomorrow. So it had been decided that Leon was to spend Christmas eve with my family instead. Only, I had thought that it would just be a quiet dinner with my mother and father. I didn't expect that my grandparents, my dad's sister and her husband and as well as their kids would come.

I should have known.

Having gone out to hang with Leon and the rest of our friends, I should have known this would happen when Mom was adamant I stay out until dinner.

"Fia?" Christian prompted. "Are you alright?"

"No," I muttered angrily.

Then I stormed inside the house.

"So you're Leon," Uncle Charlie boomed enthusiastically, shaking Leon's hand. I guess introductions were over and done with while I was seething outside. "We've heard so many things about you."

"So many things," Aunt Sarah echoed with a smile.

"Really?" Leon murmured, glancing back at me with a little smirk on his face.

"But not enough," I heard Cynthia mutter and when I glanced at her, she was staring at Leon with clear admiration on her face. "I'm Cynthia, by the way," she said, offering her hand.

Leon took it and I swear I almost saw her shiver. "I'm Leon. Nice to meet you."

"The pleasure is all mine," she purred, squeezing his hand.

I bit my lip.

Oh God. What was I supposed to do now?

"Dad..." I whisper-whined at him. Cynthia and Casey were now chatting Leon up. "Why didn't you tell me they were coming?"
