Adele had been working all week. Long shifts, graveyard mostly. So when her boss asked her to do some overtime on the day shift, she accepted. And a little sunlight after work wouldn't hurt.

After her 16 hours shift at the emergency of Queens Hospital Center, with mostly patients presenting with flu symptoms, she knew she deserved the best reward on her; ice cream.

She took a short shower in the locker room and headed to Little Brown Jug, the best bar in town. Of course, being a regular, the bartender knew exactly what she needed and handed her a small pint of his best chocolate ice cream.

"Thanks Tom!"

"You are so welcome, Del. So... Too boring at home tonight?" He asked, smirking.

"I didn't even went home since yesterday, to be honest." She laughed, taking a huge spoon of ice cream. "Jeremy isn't here for another two days and I didn't want to clean the apartment."

"Well, if you need a refill let me know." He winked and went to serve other customers.

She took her sweet time savoring her ice cream, watching television for about an hour when the door opened and a group of men, laughing, came in. They sat behind her at a free table. And as the hours passed and the drinks kept flowing, they started to talk louder and louder. She couldn't do anything but listen to their conversation.

"Yeah well, you're a lucky man. Two women. Two!"

"Wait, two but only one gives me what I want." A voice, she knew but didn't recognize right away because of all the noises around, replied.

"The other one just want to wait after we get married. The thing is, she's going to wait cause its never gonna happen." The voice laughed.

"You mean you don't want to get married?"

"Come on! A prostitute can give me what I want and it will cost less than a wedding."

Adele started to feel sorry for the poor woman the men were talking about, as she was asking for the same thing to her boyfriend, but he's reacting better to that request than that idiot.

"Then, why are you staying with her?"

"Why do you think? She has money. I mean come on, she's McLean's daughter."

At the sound of that name, she sat up straight. Her last name was McLean. And then she realized, that voice. she knew exactly who it was.

"Jeremy, you are such an inspiration. I should found a rich girl too."

She heard enough. She jumped off her seat and turned around.

"Oh yeah! He's such an inspiration. I should really take notes." She replied sarcastically, with an innocent smirk on your face.

"Honey? What are you doing here?"

"Oh, don't honey me! You, son of a... You're cheating on me because I don't sleep with you?"

"Come on, Del. I'm just kidding... I'm messing with my friends." He tried to explain, getting closer to her.

"Oh really?" She asked, still sarcastic, already knowing the answer.

She closed her fist and punched him in the face. He fell down on the floor, with a broken nose and blood gushing out, as two of his friend got up to helped him. She turned her back at them, holding her injured hand. Jeremy got up angry and grabbed her arm to make her face him, hurting her in the process. Tom was coming their way to stop Jeremy, but she put yourself in between them.

"I don't want you to come back at the apartment... I don't want you to come close to me again."

Adele sensed Tom pushing against her, wanting to get closer to Jeremy.
