What I wanted to see the most when I came down here was the Loggerheads Marine Life Center in Juno Beach. Last semester in school, I took a class and did my final projects on loggerhead sea turtles, among the species which the Loggerhead Marine Life Center rescued and rehabilitates.
I felt a bit jealous of the turtles, who were able to float around in tanks of cool water on a hot day like today. Each tank has a sign with the turtle's name, species, where they were found, the illnesses and injuries they came in with and their treatment regimen. When the turtles make a recovery, they are released back into the wild. After exploring the Marine Life Center, we stopped at a thrift store on our way back to Aunt Suzie's condo, where I bought a biography of Catherine the Great for fifty cents.
We eat lunch back at the condo then went to the pool for a couple of hours. A little before 6:00, we went to an Italian place in Jensen Beach called Santo's for dinner. Thursday nights in Jensen Beach are called "Jammin' Jensens" and the downtown area is filled with tables set up by local businesses and artists. Mom and I bought these hair accessories which are combination hair comb and hair net and are great for holding buns in place.
We finished our last night here with drinks at a bar and grilled called Mulligan's and discuss what we're going to do when my mom and I come back next year.
