"Hello?" I asked as I answered the call from an unknown number.
"Prince Avery?" A polite and quiet voice answered from the other end. I instantly recognized the voice as my mother's personal assistant.
"Yes, Arias? Is my mother alright?" I asked frantically- she wouldn't have called unless something had happened. I shaded my dark eyes with my hand as I moved out of the direct morning sunlight, instead lounging by a shop producing android bots. The girl managing the shop smiled and I waved politely back.
"Oh, Prince Avery! I'm so very sorry!" I went frigid as she sobbed from the other side of the line.
"Arias, is she okay?" I asked, walking along the fastest path that led to the castle. I pulled my hood tighter around my head as it started slipping. People were staring. I realized I must look pretty weird, as I have a hood pulled tight around my face and a fully black outfit as to hide my identity in the middle of summer.
I stopped in the shade of a large tree as I awaited the words that would change my life forever.
