Lucas: so...wanna start?
Mike: Sure!
Will: wait, does y/n know how to play?
Dustin: we could teach you if you want
Y/n: no, it's fine. I've played before with my cousins back home.
Will: ok. Great! Let's play!
You guys start the round and play for about 20 minutes until Lucas starts asking you questions again.
Lucas: so, y/n?
Y/n: yeah?
You look up at him
Lucas: how old are you?
Y/n: 13
Lucas: are you turning 14 this year?
Y/n: yes
Lucas: what month
Y/n: in-
You were about to say when but mike cut you off
Mike: LUCAS! SHUT UP!
Lucas: sorry mike.
You sit there quietly for a minute contemplating what just happened then continued playing with them.
*time skip to when you finished the "match"*
Dustin: what now?
Mike: not sure
*knock knock*
You all look up at once to the door at the top of the stairs
You see el walking down slowly
Mike: hey el!
El: hi
She says softly
You smile at her but she just glares at you and looks away and back at mike
Mike: what are you doing here?
El: hopper let me see you since I didn't bug him for the whole week.
Dustin: good job
She looks at him and giggles
El: thanks
Mike: you know Y/n right?
El: yeah
Y/n:nice to meet you el
You put your hand out but she just ignores it
You sit back down on the couch and look at Will.
You see him staring at the ground with no emotion
Y/n: Will? Are you okay?
Will: huh...uh..yeah...I-I'm fine
Y/n: you don't seem fine to me
Will: I said I'm fine
He says tilting his head slightly towards you still glaring at the floor
Y/n: are you sure?
Will: YES OK I SAID I WAS FINE SO l'M FINE NOW LEAVE ME ALONE!
Everyone quickly turn their heads towards you two and stared.
Y/n: oh....sorry I was just...trying to help
You got up and left with a few tears in your eyes
No one says anything to you on your way out except for mike's mum
Karen: leaving so soon sweetie?
Y/n: huh? Oh yeah...my mum needs help unpacking
Karen: oh ok well hope to see you soon luv
Y/n: thanks mrs Wheeler
You walk out and ride your bike back home
You go inside and run up to your room without saying a word to your parents and shut the door and start to cry.
*back at mike's house*
El: what's her problem
Lucas: we don't know
Mike: will what happened?
Will: nothing
Dustin: you sure?
Will: yes...
Mike: just let him be guys
